If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/25/12

I have absolutely nothing witty to say. *laugh* So…just know there’s a lot of great TV on tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching! 🙂

I can’t say enough good things about ABC Family’s Wednesday comedies. And that starts with Melissa & Joey. The show is so cute and so funny. Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence have such great chemistry and play off each other so well. The kids are cast really well, too. Last week was great. My favorite part last week had to be Mel’s date being so wary about her relationship with Joe, and Mel & Joe both insisting they were only two adults, living together, and raising kids…but they weren’t in a relationship. It was really quite funny.

On tonight’s episode, “Pretty Big Liars,” Mel and Joe each try to hide a big secret from Lennox and Ryder—Mel is hiding her new boyfriend’s identity, and Joe is hiding a bad financial decision. Shawn Christian & Lucy Devito guest star.

Laugh along with it tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Melissa & Joey @ Clicker.

Tonight, Bravo kicks off the fourth round of Top Chef Masters. Last season, Top Chef Masters broke away from the competition bracket format used in the first two seasons and became more like the original Top Chef series, just with more experienced chefs. One thing that I find fascinating about this series is that the chefs are much more concerned about putting out quality products rather than scheming and plotting against one another—which is what we normally see a lot of in the original Top Chef series. I think it helps that the money is going to charity and not in their own pockets, but it is still amazing and great to see the chefs actually helping one another out during the competition. I’m looking forward to watching another fun season of talented chefs battle it out in a civilized manor for the Top Chef Master title.

In tonight’s episode, “The Buffet Must Go On,” twelve renowned chefs battle in culinary challenges in Las Vegas. The masters play a card game to score ingredients, and then they create an extravagant buffet for some of Sin City’s hottest performers.

Watch the premiere tonight on Bravo at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Around the World in 80 Plates @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, Dallas, Royal Pains, Picked Off, and Futurama.

I have loved the other ABC Family comedy, Baby Daddy, since the very first episode. The cast is just so cute together, the story lines are funny, and it just makes me smile and laugh every week. Last week, when Bonnie was basically living in the apartment with the boys, they really didn’t like it. She interrupted overnight dates, took time with Emma away from Ben, and just generally irritated the heck out of them, coming in at all times of day and night, intruding on their personal space. I really just love everything about the show and look forward to it airing every week.

On tonight’s episode, “Married to the Job,” Ben asks Riley to play along to impress his potential boss, who believes the two are married and Emma is their daughter. But it doesn’t go as they’d planned when they discover the truth could actually ruin his chances at getting the new job.

See it tonight on ABC Family at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Baby Daddy @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Got Talent, Royal Pains, The Soul Man, The Exes, Retired at 35, Cajun Pawn Stars, Top Chef Masters, & Restaurant Impossible.

I am actually quite fond of the new format on So You Think You Can Dance. It made it easier to watch the results when they came so quickly at the end of the show. It does, however, make for a tight and busy show. Daniel and Alexa went home; those two are beautiful dancers, but they lack emotions—they just couldn’t seem to connect with the audience. Last week, my favorite routines were Audrey/Matthew with their Sonya Tayeh one, and Amelia/Will with their Sonya Tayeh one, as well—maybe it’s just Sonya I love. 🙂

On tonight’s show, the top 16 take to the stage to prove themselves, and we lose at least one more girl and one more guy.

To see if your favorite makes the cut, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of So You Think You Can Dance @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Big Brother, Baby Daddy, Beverly Hills Nannies, and Top Chef Masters.
