Whew, the hot temperatures are back—although I’d gladly take the mid-90s to the 100+ degree temperatures of earlier in the summer! Still, it’s incredibly warm out, so take a break tonight, curl up in front of the fan or near the air conditioner, and watch some great TV. Here’s our recommendations for today!

I’m kind of sad because tonight are the season finales of the ABC Family comedies. I’ve been really enjoying this season of both, but I have to say I’m curious as to how tonight’s finale of Melissa & Joey will turn out. Last week, Joe spent nearly every minute of every day upstairs in the bedroom with his Russian girlfriend, Elena. That meant things around the house started to fall apart. Mel called him out on it, but he—and even Lennox—says she’s just jealous. When Joe went out to a poker game one night, Mel and Elena bonded somewhat, but in the process, Elena got mad at Joe for leaving her to go play poker. When he got home, he and Mel acted out Cyrano de Bergerac, with Mel giving Joe the lines to tell Elena. What she ended up doing was basically confessing her feelings for Joe, even though neither of them admitted to that. But it worked because Joe and Elena made up. THEN, Elena found out that her company in Russia was shut down by the government, and if she went back to Russia, she would be arrested. Freaking out, Joe proposed in order to keep her out of prison, and she accepted. Where that leaves Mel & Joe, I have no idea.
The story line with Lennox, Ryder, and the unhealthy snacks at school was cute but such a side story to the bigger story of Mel, Joe, and Elena that there’s not a lot to say, other than I enjoy both of them every episode, regardless of story line.
On tonight’s episode, “Mel Marries Joe,” Mel is shocked when Joe offers to marry Elena in order to keep her in the country, and refuses to take part in his scheme. But when it looks like everything will fall apart, Mel takes charge in order to protect both of them. A series of events lead to the wedding not going as planned.

Good news, everyone…tonight, we get two new episodes of Futurama! However, they are also the final episodes of the season. Last week, everyone but Zoidberg (who didn’t have any money) headed off to Amy’s parents’ casino on Mars. Meanwhile, the Robot Mafia decided to stash their stolen money in the dumpster where Zoidberg was sleeping. Zoidberg took this to the casino, where he proceeded to quadruple and then lose all 8 million dollars all in a matter of minutes. Once the mafia discovered this, they headed to Mars and claimed ownership of the casino. So Amy plotted an Oceans 11-style heist to rob the casino vault and return the ownership of the casino back to the Native Martians.
I can’t wait for tonight’s double-header, even though it’s going to be a long wait until next summer for more Planet Express adventures! This season has been great, and tonight, we cap it off with this year’s anthology episode. I always enjoy these fun three-story episodes, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with this year’s nature documentary theme.
In tonight’s first episode, “31st Century Fox,” Bender becomes a prey after saving a robotic fox from hunters. Then, in “Naturama,” a nature documentary transforms the crew into their animal alter egos.
See all the fun tonight on Comedy Central at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Futurama @ Clicker.
Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, Top Chef Masters, and Royal Pains.

I have adored every episode of Baby Daddy. It’s one of my favorite new comedies in a while. The chemistry between the cast is exceptional, and the stories are always funny. Last week saw one of my favorite guest stars ever, Greg Grunberg, who played Ben & Danny’s father and Bonnie’s ex-husband, Ray. Ben called him when it was time to pose for the yearly family Christmas picture, and he wanted Emma’s first holiday picture with him to include everyone. Bonnie thought he was flirting with her and got it in her head that he wanted to get back together, but she didn’t know that Ray had told Ben that he was gay and living with his boyfriend. Oops. LOL Besides his brother, mom, and dad, Ben wanted to include Tucker and Riley in the photo, as well. The photo taking scene was one of my favorite scenes of the episode.
The other story line wasn’t nearly as funny and is probably one of my least favorite parts of the series. Tucker and Riley were sent to pick up the costume boxes, and by mistake, they found Danny’s old journal from high school. They finally broke down and read it. One of the things Danny mentioned is his crush on “Girl X.” Of course, even after the kiss Danny planted on Riley a few weeks ago, Riley doesn’t realize SHE is Girl X. She has a crush on Ben, who is oblivious, and Danny has a crush on Riley, who is oblivious. It’s nuts. I’m sure it’ll have to come to a head at some point, but I’m not sure I’m looking forward to that or not!
On tonight’s episode, “Something Borrowed, Something Ben,” Riley organizes the perfect wedding for her friends Katie and Dave. But after a night of drinking with his wild buddy, Gene, Ben wakes in bed on the wedding day…with the bride.
