If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/9/12

It’s the start of a new week, and I can hardly believe that Christmas Eve is only 15 days away. I am not ready. Is it just me, or did we blink and November was over? EGADS! On that note, my favorite part of the holiday season is all the Christmas specials, so let’s take a look at what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

Tonight, the pickings are slim, but I’m going to be watching Christmas with Holly to get myself into the seasonal mood. There’s nothing that quite gets me in the holiday spirit more than a good TV Christmas movie. I’m going to kick back with some cocoa, shortbread cookies, and my honey to watch. What about you?

On Christmas with Holly, the owner of a toy store falls in love with a man who cares for his orphaned niece. Sean Faris, Eloise Mumford, Lucy Gallina, Josie Gallina, & Daniel Eric Gold star.

To enjoy a nice piece of seasonal sappy goodness, tune into ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race and The Mentalist.

Tonight is the fall finale of The Mentalist. While the show has gotten slightly tedius because of Jane’s search for Red John, I am still enjoying it. I do like that now, he can be obsessed by Lorelei Martin’s declaration that he’s shaken hands with Red John before. I don’t know if this show is like How I Met Your Mother, in that…if the biggest mystery of the series is solved, the show will be over… It seems that in the case of The Mentalist, there could be plenty of show after the case of Red John is solved. But what do I know? *shrug* All I know is that I would like to see Patrick Jane & Lisbon get together and Rigsby & Van Pelt back together. Cause you know it’s all about the relationships for me. LOL

On tonight’s episode, “Panama Red,” the death of a young botanist leads the team into the lucrative world of medical marijuana, while Cho’s work with the rapid response team brings him back into contact with Summer. Monique Gabriela Curnen & Samaire Armstrong guest star.

Don’t miss it tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Mentalist @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Funniest Home Videos, Sugar Dome, Christmas with Holly, & The Next Iron Chef.

Tonight, another round of The Amazing Race comes to an end. Last week, the final four teams were in Spain, and Natalie and Nadiya had some bad luck. The twins not only got lost, but also forgot how to drive stick shift. I personally have no idea why someone would want to drive a manual transmission car—it’s so much extra effort—but it’s a necessary evil when participating in The Amazing Race. (Those strange foreign countries and their lack of automatic vehicles!) The twins’ car troubles caused them to come in last, but fortunately for them, this ended up being a non-elimination leg. So the final four teams remain as couple Trey and Lexi, Chippendales Jaymes and James, The Fabulous Beekman Boys Josh and Brent, and twins Natalie and Nadiya.

It looks like in tonight’s 2-hour finale, one team will be eliminated in France before the final three head to the finish line in NYC. While I don’t really have a team I’m rooting for or against, I think the Beekman Boys should be the first to go, as they are really the weakest of all the remaining teams and have just survived on pure luck. If I had to pick a team I want to see win, I guess I’d go with the twins—just because we twins need to stick together! 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Take Down That Million,” the final four teams race through France and then fly to New York City, where they face a Houdini-inspired challenge before running to the finish line to claim the $1 million top prize.

See the 2-hour finale tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Amazing Race @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording The Mentalist, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad, Dexter, and Homeland, as well as the two (probably cheesy) made-for-TV holiday films Christmas with Holly and The Mistle-Tones.
