The amount of new TV on each night has been dwindling as we head into the Christmas and New Years holidays. So we will be taking a break from the regular If We Controlled Your Remote columns for a couple weeks. However, we may pop in here and there with a recommendation. We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday—and use the time off clear out those DVRs, as you’re going to be quickly filling them back up come January!
Tonight, I’m looking forward to another hilarious double-dose of The League on FX as it closes out its fourth season. Last week, it seemed like the guys were seeking help from the worst sources. First, Pete enlisted Andre’s help with a plan to get even with a girl who embarrassed him in high school by getting her to sleep with him before he dumped her. But this somehow ended up with Andre getting into a fight with some bums. Meanwhile, Ruxin planned to impregnate his wife with an “anchor baby” but discovered that constantly using his laptop had affected his “boys.” So he sought Taco’s help to restore his virility. And Kevin discovered his daughter’s creepy new playmate watching Jenny and him having sex but didn’t let that stop him from finishing.
Last week were two of the funniest episodes of the season so far. I hope that trend continues tonight and we close on a high note. Fingers crossed for more of The League next year!
In tonight’s first episode, “A Krampus Carol,” Ruxin receives a gift from his dad (Jeff Goldblum). Meanwhile, Taco has a run-in with a mall Santa. Then, in the season finale, “The Curse of Shiva,” Gina Gibiatti (Brooklyn Decker) returns in the Season 4 finale, forcing Pete to make a decision. Meanwhile, Taco throws a New Year’s Eve party.

I will admit to being 2 episodes behind on Burn Notice, so I have a bit of catching up to do before I can watch tonight’s two-hour season finale. It’s been a crazy season, though, from Fiona spending some time in prison and then being released (& having to work for the CIA for a bit because of it), to Nate being killed, to Michael & crew hunting down Nate’s killer, only to then work with him to get the man behind it all—Michael’s boss in the CIA, of all people—and then the team being on the run from the CIA. Poor Maddie has had a rough go of it, too, trying to deal with Nate’s death and knowing that his association with Michael is what got him killed…and trying to forgive Michael for it. So I’m anxious to get caught up and see how the season ends!
On tonight’s episode, “You Can Run, Pts 1 & 2,” Sam and Jesse are captured, and Michael must figure out how to rescue them before time runs out. Also, after nearly being killed, Michael realizes he must eliminate the threat in order to protect those close to him.
Don’t miss the drama tonight on USA Network starting at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Burn Notice @ Clicker.
It’s the week of singing competition finales, and tonight, we see who takes home the $5 million prize on The X Factor. Out of the three competitors left, I’d love to see Tate win because he’s the most genuine. I love the purity of his voice and his love of the music. Although, out of everyone, I don’t want to see Fifth Harmony win, because, while they are talented, I don’t believe they deserve it as much as either Tate or Carly.
On tonight’s episode, we get the results and see the winner of The X Factor crowned.
