I love winter, but I’ve had ENOUGH snow! Insanity was my friend while I drove in that mess of a storm on Friday—took me almost 7 hours to get somewhere that should have taken me 3 hours. Yeah, I am certifiable. Then yesterday, they canceled my daughter’s school again because of freezing rain. I’m done… Bring on spring!! To amuse myself and take my mind off this ridiculous weather, I am going to kick back and relax with some good TV. Here’s what you should be watching.
There really isn’t much on tonight (except of course for the State of the Union 2013), but I’m going to amuse myself with The Taste. I wasn’t sure I liked this show in the beginning, but I have a weakness for cooking competitions, mostly because I like to watch and think about how much better I’d be at it if I entered the contest myself. Yes, I’m pretty confident in my skills, but I’d love to be mentored by a professional chef, especially one as sexy as Ludo Lefebvre. So far, the competition has just begun, but I’m interested to see how well these competitors continue to do under the extreme pressure that is building, I suppose only time will tell!
On tonight’s episode, “Daring Pairings,” each team must use five unique ingredients as it tries to create the best dish; each contestant has to prepare a dish that pairs best with the selected wine.

I am still loving Cougar Town. The move to TBS hasn’t done the show any harm—and actually, I think the move did the show good. They can be a little fast and loose with the more…cable-worthy jokes, and that’s worked well. They aren’t beating us over the head with it, but they aren’t shying away when it calls for it, either. Also, Jules and Grayson’s marriage has just added to the show for me. Last week’s episode included some of the funniest jokes of the series. I loved Andy pulling Bobby’s Burgers truck.
On tonight’s episode, “Restless,” Jules has trouble sleeping, and it seems like nothing can help her relax. Grayson’s face gets mangled in a roller hockey game. And Ellie goes into hiding after Andy decides to redeem his stash of sex coupons on Valentine’s Day.
Laugh along tonight on TBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Cougar Town @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Taste, Chopped, Justified, & Total Blackout.
I can’t overstate how happy I am to have The Joe Schmo Show back on my TV—it is the same great show I loved a decade ago! Last week, Chase (“Joe”) continued to question the prisoner escape, and nothing the other contestants did seemed to distract him. So Randy told Chase that Allison stole the urn with his dog’s ashes. At the elimination, there was a tie between Chico and Allison, and a coin toss sent Allison home—but not without a lot of cursing and screaming. However, at the end of the episode, the producers took things a bit too far by “finding” the urn and having Randy discover Allison took a crap in the urn. This once again sent “Joe’s” mind racing—he asked for a notebook and went back to his room and started writing. As the producers nervously watched from the control room, they saw Chase writing how he thought things were fake and didn’t believe what was going on.
With four episodes left, where do we go from here? Has Chase really figured out the truth? If so, how will the producers try to change things up or try to convince him otherwise?! If he doesn’t yet know, will they tame things down a bit to make the situation more believable?! I love this show because it is so hilarious, but at the same time, it’s extremely nerve-racking worrying about whether “Joe” will figure things out before the end!
On tonight’s episode, “Is That a Gun in Your Pocket?” Chase is shocked to learn that Skylar communicates with her dead husband, while Wanda gives a very hands-on lesson in frisking.
