It’s Tuesday, which, while better than Monday, still sucks. Yes, I’m definitely in a blah mood today. On a good note, there’s some great TV on tonight to make the blah day just a little bit better, so check out what we’re recommending. 🙂
My favorite summer series (by far) and one of my favorite whenever it airs returns tonight. Rizzoli & Isles is really great. It’s a terrific blend of a cop show and lighthearted dramedy. Last season ended on a huge note. Jane decided she was breaking up with Casey (which I absolutely hated—but that shows how much I love the show since they screwed up the couple I ship!), and then she figured out she was pregnant. Frankie’s now a detective, working with Jane, Frost, & Korsak, and he suddenly had a crush on Maura. Maura seemed to be responding well to his attention, and they kissed. Very awkward to me—he seems much too young for her. Maybe he’s not, but… But the big news going into season 5 is Lee Thompson Young’s death. How will the show handle that with his character, Det. Barry Frost? I’ve seen the first two episodes, so I know, but it’s something you’ll just have to watch. That’s certainly not the focus of tonight’s premiere, but it does play heavily into next week’s story lines.
On tonight’s episode, “A New Day,” solving the murder of a jogger takes on even greater urgency when Jane realizes that the motive was theft…of the woman’s baby. As the investigation gets underway, Jane attempts to hide her pregnancy from her snooping mother, and Maura and Frankie face the aftermath of their kiss.
See if they can find the baby and if Jane can keep the big news from Angela tonight on TNT at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Royal Pains, Chopped, The Little Couple, Playing House, & The Night Shift.
Jump with us to see else we think you should watch.
At first I was unsure about The Night Shift because so many times, a new medical show comes out and I like it at first, only to be disappointed. This hasn’t been the case with this show yet because the medical cases are intense and TC is by far one of the most badass emergency room doctors to grace our TV screens since Clooney on ER. Last week, we watched as TC and Paul dealt with an emergency call at a hog hunting party, where someone lost a hand and a woman was shot by an arrow. It was an intense episode, and I can’t wait to see more.
On tonight’s episode, “Grace Under Fire,” TC and Jordan deal with a wounded patient who is also suffering from amnesia; Drew is put to the test when his unit suffers an accident.
To see if Drew can handle the pressure, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching America’s Got Talent, Fargo, Pretty Little Liars, Chasing Life, Chopped, and Siberian Cut.
I have thoroughly enjoyed FX’s Fargo TV series, and last week’s episode was quite possibly my favorite hour of TV so far this year. Lester and Malvo got into a fight in Las Vegas, ending with Lester knocking Malvo unconscious and making a run for it. As soon as he and his wife got home, Lester scrambled through his brother’s boxes, looking for weapons to defend himself. He purchased tickets for him to go to Acapulco with Linda, and they headed to the office to pick up their passports and cash. However, Lester had a feeling that Malvo might be waiting for him, so he sent Linda into the office first, wearing his coat. Sure enough, she was shot through the head moments later.
What is Lester’s next move? Will he be able to get away from Malvo? Will anyone finally believe Molly’s theory? And will either Lester or Malvo ever be brought to justice? I’m looking forward to seeing how this exciting case comes to a close tonight!
On tonight’s episode, “Morton’s Fork,” Malvo eyes a new target. Elsewhere, Gus pursues a hunch; and Lester manipulates a situation.
See how the season (series?) ends tonight on FX at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Night Shift, Chasing Life, Royal Pains, Playing House, Heroes of Cosplay, and Awkward.
