If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/10/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

thegoodwife510smallTonight is the season (and possibly series) finale of The Good Wife. Last week, Alicia was revisited by one of her first clients. A man she and Carey proved to be not guilty of attempted murder 6 years earlier was now being retried for first degree murder now that the victim had died. As Alicia sifted through old evidence and case recordings, we got a lot of new and old flashbacks of Kalinda, Alicia, and Cary working on the original case.

Meanwhile, Alicia debated what to do with her life next, ultimately deciding that she would start her own firm and only work on important cases that mattered to her. She got Grace’s help to turn Zack’s bedroom into an office. (Isn’t he going to need that when he comes back home?!) And then in a you-can-cut-the-sexual-tension-with-a-knife scene, she asked Finn Polmar to join her in her new venture. (Are they both going to work in that bedroom office?!)

Will Finn and Alicia finally explore their feelings for one another? Will Finn join Alicia’s new firm, and will they get anyone else to join them? I really hope we see more of the delightful Alicia fangirl, newbie attorney Amber! I’m interested to see how Alicia will cross paths with her former partners as the show moves forward. Will we get closure in case the show doesn’t return, or will things be left unresolved?

On tonight’s episode, “Wanna Partner?,” Alicia gets a suspicious call from a client and discovers that he’s being held in a secret police facility, where people are detained without officially being booked.

Find out if we get answers to some of my questions tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Once Upon a Time, American Odyssey, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bob’s Burgers, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Veep, Nurse Jackie, and Penny Dreadful.

Jenny’s Choice

brooklyn99510smallI love Brooklyn Nine-Nine — the stories & the characters. Last week, Garret Dillahunt guest starred as the best detective in the NYPD, Detective Majors. Amy & Jake had to work with him to find a group that was robbing check cashing businesses. Amy & Jake competed to get on his good side, since both were really enamored of how amazing a detective he was. They solved the case, but Jake clearly got jealous when Majors made it clear he was going to ask Amy out once the case ended. Jake tried to ask her during the case to get the jump on him, but he chickened out. Amy and Majors ended up going out for drinks after the case, but she told Jake after that she hadn’t realized it was a date and that she’d told Majors she wasn’t interested and then told Jake she didn’t want to date a cop. After Jake walked away, she clearly looked after him wistfully…so her feelings for Jake haven’t changed.

The other story line featured Gina and Charles trying to convince Terry to stay with the 9-9 after they learned that he was being recruited by a private security firm. It seemed that Captain Holt — who’d been recruited multiple times by the firm and turned them down each time — was doing his best to get Terry to leave, and I assumed it was because he was jealous that the firm’s owner had come to recruit Terry, not him one more time, but in the end, he was forcing Terry to convert his old paper files to digital to remind him just how much good he’s done in his job. Once Terry remembered that, he made it clear he wasn’t going anywhere.

I’ve seen tonight’s episode — as well as the season finale 😉 — and of course it’s fantastic. Kyra Sedgwick is back as Madeline Wuntch, Holt’s nemesis. This episode features Jake, Charles, and Holt working together on a case while Amy, Rosa, Gina, and Terry are involved with the B-story, which is just as great as the main one.

On tonight’s episode, “The Chopper,” Holt is wary when Wuntch (guest star Kyra Sedgwick) lets Jake work his dream case, worried that she is setting him up to fail. Back at the precinct, Amy, Rosa, and Gina help Terry host a field trip for a local magnet school.

See if Holt’s right or if he gets one over on Wuntch tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Kate Plus 8, Spring Baking Championship, & Cutthroat Kitchen.
