If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/2/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

waywardpines72smallOn last week’s episode of Wayward Pines, we got even more answers. Pilcher gave Ethan a tour of the facilities and explained how project volunteers have devoted their lives to keeping the town’s system running from behind the scenes. The tour ended at the cryo room, where hundreds of bodies were in frozen storage. Meanwhile Kate, Ted, and Harold were plotting some sort of secret plan in a room that was outside of the town’s surveillance. We later discovered that Harold was actually building a bomb. And elsewhere, Theresa grew suspicious of an oddly vacant plot of land in town, but when she questioned Bill about it, he told her to mind her own business.

It will be interesting to see the full extent of this secret radical faction of townsfolk who don’t like what’s going on — how many people are in this group, how much do they know about what’s really going on, and what is their ultimate goal? What does Harold plan to blow up with his bomb? If he wipes out the security gates, will the town suddenly be overrun with Abbies? And at that point, is there any way to hide the truth from the rest of Wayward Pines? Will Theresa investigate Plot 33, and if so, what will she find? Will Ethan and Ben let each other know what they know…and will they clue Theresa in on what’s going on?

I have thoroughly enjoying this series and can’t believe we only have 4 episodes left!

On tonight’e episode, “Betrayal,” Ethan finds a bomb planted in his car, which leads him to question people he thought he could trust; Kate and Harold discuss their fertility issues with Nurse Pam; Ben’s relationship with Amy heats up.

See what Ethan does about the bomb tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Under the Dome, The Astronaut Wives Club, Rookie Blue, Hannibal, and Complications.

foodfighters2015smallIt’s well known that I love cooking competition shows, so I’m really happy that Food Fighters is back tonight. In this show, home cooks compete against celebrity and professional chefs in multiple rounds in order to win up to $100,000—and each chef has to cook whatever dishes the home cook brings. This season, kid chefs are added to the mix, bringing their signature dishes that the expert chefs will have to cook as well, with no advance notice. Season two features high-profile chefs Rocco DiSpirito, Nadia G., Lorena Garcia, Duff Goldman, Eric Greenspan, Antonia Lofaso, Brian Malarkey, Aaron McCargo, Marcel Vigneron and Fabio Viviani.

On tonight’s episode, “I’m Bringing the Spice,” home cook Jacky Herrera competes against Antonia Lofaso, Irish chef Stuart O’Keeffe, & more in order to win up to $100,000.

See if the home cook can come out on top tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Boom!, Complications, Beat Bobby Flay, & Rookie Blue.

rookieblue72smallRookie Blue continues to be one of my favorite summer dramas, and this season looks like it’s going to be one that keeps us all coming back for more. Last week on the season 6 premiere, we fast forwarded to the station being repaired after the bombing and everyone trying to get back to work. Dov hasn’t forgiven Chloe and doesn’t show any signs that he will, and Nick is trying to be a good friend, but that might end because he is considering leaving. The only person who might get him to stay is Juliette, but she isn’t sure she wants a relationship with another cop in her precinct. Speaking of relationships within the precincts, Sam finds out that his ex, Marlo, is pregnant with his baby and is trying to tell Andy, but before he can, she is attacked in Tracy’s apartment. It looks like it may be a serial rapist, but it may be a bit before they catch him after the squad got involved, which possibly messed up the case. Later, when Andy finally finds out the news, she runs because we all know that’s what she does best, but I have a feeling that they are going to work things out eventually. It’ll just take time and Andy not being so stubborn. I really wish that Chloe and Dov would get back together, because they were such a fun couple, but I suppose we’ll see how that goes as the season progresses.

On tonight’s episode, “Perfect Family,” Andy debates her future with Sam after learning that Marlo is pregnant with his baby; at the same time, she meets an out-of-control teen who needs to be protected from her own conservative family. Elsewhere, Juliet is paired with Nick for her first shift at 15 Division.

To see how Andy deals with this situation, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Food Fighters, Beat Bobby Flay, Wayward Pines, and Mistresses.
