sytycd2015smallI’ve been really enjoying this season of So You Think You Can Dance. The split of “street” dancers versus “stage” has been interesting. I think there’s both positive and negative things about the way they’re doing that. On the one hand, it was great seeing the dancers stretch themselves in the genres they weren’t at all familiar with (such as an animator doing contemporary or a contemporary dancer doing hip hop). We found some real stars that way. But on the other hand, I can’t wait to see if they take the street dancers more in-depth in that area, for example. So it’ll be interesting, now that they’ve chosen their top 10 street & stage dancers! My favorites so far are JaJa for street and Jim for stage, but honestly, it’s a great top 20, and I can’t wait to see how the season plays out!

On tonight’s episode, “Top 20 Perform,” it’s the first live show of the season! The Top 20 have been chosen, and now it’s time for the dancers to show America they have what it takes to win.

To watch the Top 20 give it everything they’ve got and to see a special guest performer take the stage, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, Cake Wars, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Major Crimes, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Murder in the First, Southern Fried Road Trip, & Top 5 Restaurants.

runningwild713smallIt’s the season premiere of Running Wild with Bear Grylls tonight, and I am super excited because I love seeing these celebrities pushing the extreme limits. Bear is amusing and inspiring, and he manages to bring a lot out of the people who go on the show — whether it’s a story about their lives or conquering a fear, it happens. Personally, I would NEVER be able to do most of the things he has them do, especially anything involving heights or eating snakes. I cringe every time I watch. This season promises to have big stars and big adventures, so make sure you tune in!

On tonight’s premiere, “Kate Hudson,” Oscar nominee Kate Hudson tackles the scenic yet treacherous Dolomite Mountains of Italy tonight with Bear Grylls.

To see how this insane trek goes, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching So You Think You Can Dance, Cake Wars, Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, and The Whispers.
