If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/2/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

santasinthebarnsmallI was going to pick the season premiere of Top Chef for tonight because I love that show so much, but instead, my pick is the series premiere of another reality competition show, Santas in the Barn on TruTV, the search for the nation’s best Santa. Ten Santas from across the country come to live at the ultimate Christmas fantasy camp, where they’ll compete in over-the-top Christmas-themed challenges to see who most lives the “Santa Way.” They will vote on who most exemplifies the Christmas spirit, with the winner getting $100,000 and the title of America’s Best Santa.

I have no idea how good or bad this is going to be. It could be cheesy and simply awful, or it could be a lot of fun, something to help get viewers into the Christmas spirit. I’m hoping it’s the second, but even if it’s the first, it might be fun to watch regardless! Based on the photos I saw on the show’s site, most of the wannabe Santas are…different-looking than your normal Kris Kringle. I can’t wait to see how fun and silly the challenges are and which Santa is my favorite!

On tonight’s episode, “Welcome to the North Pole,” the Santas learn how to stack gifts, climb chimneys, and a whole lot more as they embark on a once in a lifetime journey to become America’s Best Santa.

Meet the Santas tonight on TruTV at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hellevator, Rosewood, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Cutthroat Kitchen, Modern Family, black-ish, Code Black, Mystery Diners, & Top Chef.

arrow122smallThe CW’s epic DC series crossover concludes in tonight’s episode of Arrow. Last night on The Flash, a murderous immortal named Vandal Savage came to Central City looking for Kenda, but Barry was able to speed her and Cisco away from Savage’s deadly throwing knives. He took them to Star City looking for Oliver’s help, but Savage once again tracked them down. After Oliver, Barry and the others fended Savage off another time, a mysterious Hawkman flew into the picture, telling them that Kendra was actually an ancient priestess, that he and she had been partners for the past 4000 years and that Savage had already killed them 206 times. In order to jog her memory, Kendra needed to dive off a building, and when she did so, her wings sprouted and Hawkgirl was reborn.

Back in Central City, Caitlin and Dr. Wells looked for a way to increase Barry’s speed because in his current state, he was still 3-4 times slower than Zoom. They came up with super speed serum Velocity 6, but Jay warned them of its dangers and refused to be their guinea pig test subject. Meanwhile, Patty saw Dr. Wells and confronted him, thinking he was the evil killer from our world. She panicked and shot him, but Jay was able to use his super speed to remove the bullet.

At the end of the episode, the gang had returned to Central City for another big battle with Savage, which ended in a tie. Afterward, Oliver and Barry were in the cafe when a little boy holding a Flash action figure walked by and headed into the arms of his mother – Olliver’s ex-girlfriend, who had lied about losing their baby.

So what lies in store for tonight? Will the gang find a way to finally stop Vandal Savage? Will Oliver finally learn the truth about his child, and how will that affect him and his relationship with Felicity? What does Dr. Wells plan to do with his Velocity 6 serum? And will Patty – the only person who seems to not know Barry is the Flash – finally learn the truth?

On tonight’s episode, “Legends of Yesterday,” a crossover episode that began on The Flash concludes with Oliver and Barry taking Kendra and Carter to a remote location to keep them hidden from Vandal Savage, while they figure out how to defeat him. Meanwhile, Malcolm arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow, and the Flash, but it doesn’t go as planned.

Find out if they can defeat Vandal Savage tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, The Middle, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Supernatural, American Horror Story: Hotel, The League, and You’re the Worst.

rosewood122smallI’ll admit that at first I started watching Rosewood because of the sexy leading man, but then I kept watching because of the great writing and the chemistry with the cast. Honestly, if you haven’t given this freshman show a chance yet, you definitely should.

On last week’s episode, Rosewood and Villa got all dressed up and headed to a fashion show, which ended with Rosewood running into someone from his past, who was actually the designer of the show, GiGi. Rosewood was shocked because apparently when GiGi was younger, she was chubby and got picked on a lot, but she remembered him because he always defended her. GiGi called Rosewood backstage because she had a strange spot on her back, which ended up being a dangerous infection verified by Rosewood’s doctor friend, Mike (guest star Taye Diggs). Mike didn’t only help with GiGi, but he flirted with Villa a lot, making Rosewood appear jealous, but Villa definitely showed interest. They all worked together to solve who poisoned GiGi and tried to kill her other partner, with it all working out in the end. Surprisingly Villa went out on a limb and accepted a date with Mike, which was incredibly out of character, and I’m sure it’ll make some serious waves on the show. Personally I hope that it doesn’t last long, because I love the chemistry because Villa and Rosewood – they should be together in the end.

On tonight’s episode, “Aortic Atresia and Art Installations,” Rosewood and Villa dive into the hip Miami art scene to catch a serial killer who is on the cusp of creating a “masterpiece.” When TMI’s ex-fiancé, FBI Detective Heath Casablanca, joins the hunting party, he threatens to sabotage Pippy and TMI’s relationship. Heath also butts heads with Hornstock, who stands to take over as police chief if he can catch the killer. Meanwhile, an impending lawsuit against Rosewood threatens the lifeline of Magic City Lab and forces Donna to take a long hard look at the way her son lives his life. Also, Rosewood tries to protect Villa from his best friend, Mike.

To see how Rosewood deals with all of these challenges, tune in to the fall finale on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, Cutthroat Kitchen, Empire, Code Black, and black-ish.
