Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of Vinyl on HBO at 9/8c. Richie Finestra, the founder and president of American Century Records, is trying to save his company and soul without destroying everyone in his path. With his passion for music and discovering talent gone by the wayside, and American Century on the precipice of being sold, he has a life-altering event that reignites his love of music, but severely damages his personal life. Created by Golden Globe winner and Emmy(R) nominee Mick Jagger (HBO’s Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown), Academy Award(R) winner and Emmy(R) winner Martin Scorsese (The Departed, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), acclaimed author Rich Cohen, and Academy Award(R) nominee and multiple Emmy(R) winner Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street; HBO’s The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire), Vinyl is a ride through the sex- and drug-addled music business of 1970s New York at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop. The show stars Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, Max Casella, Olivia Wilde, P.J. Byrne, Ato Essandoh, Birgitte Hjort Sorenson, J.C. Mackenzie, Jack Quaid, James Jagger, Juno Temple, & Paul Ben-Victor.

Tonight is also the series premiere of 11.22.63 on hulu at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. 11.22.63 is a thriller in which high school history teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — but his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falling in love, and the past itself, which doesn’t want to be changed. Also starring Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay and Daniel Webber. The nine-hour limited event series is based upon the New York Times best-selling 2011 novel written by Stephen King, and J.J. Abrams, Stephen King, Bridget Carpenter and Bryan Burk serve as executive producers.

Tonight is the series premiere of Join or Die with Craig Ferguson on History Channel at 11/10c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 11:30/10:30c. In the show comedian, Craig Ferguson debates provocative and timely topics, in his unorthodox and iconoclastic manner, with a panel of celebrities and history experts. Some of the guest panelists include: Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin), Jack Black (School of Rock), Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Courtney Cox (Cougar Town), Jimmy Kimmel (Jimmy Kimmel Live), Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback), Jay Leno (The Tonight Show with Jay Leno), Joel McHale (The Soup), and Elijah Wood (The Hobbit). Categories range from topics such as: history’s most influential drug; the most doomed presidential campaign; history’s biggest douchebag; the most influential band and history’s biggest frenemies. The expression “Join or Die” is not only Benjamin Franklin’s 1754 rallying cry to the divided colonists; it is also the tattoo Craig received on his forearm after becoming an American citizen. This passion for history and spirited debate will be infused in every episode.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Cooked on Netflix on 3:01AM/2:01AMc. The show which examines the primal human need to cook and issues a clarion call for a return to the kitchen in order to reclaim lost traditions and restore balance to our lives. Each of the series’ four episodes examines one of the physical elements used throughout the ages to transform raw ingredients into delicious dishes: fire, water, air, and earth. Cooked takes viewers on a visually stunning journey to meet, among others: an Aboriginal tribe in Western Australia that fire-roasts Australian monitor lizards, a Connecticut Benedictine nun and microbiologist who makes traditional French cheese, Peruvian brewers who use human saliva to ferment a traditional beverage, and an ancient Moroccan granary powered by rivers. Each episode also returns to Pollan cooking in his Berkeley, California, kitchen, appetizingly delivering his core message that, surrounded as we are by fast food culture and processed foods, cooking our own meals is the single best thing we can do to take charge of our health and well being.

Finally, tonight is the complete first season premiere of Love on Netflix on 3:01AM/2:01AMc. Created, written and executive produced by Judd Apatow, Paul Rust, and Lesley Arfin, Love follows nice guy Gus (Rust) and brazen wild-child Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, love and other things they were hoping to avoid. Love is an unflinching, hilarious and excruciatingly honest take on modern relationships. Brent Forrester and Dean Holland also serve as executive producers of Love.
