Kyle’s Choice

"Younger" (Ep. 212 - Airs March 23, 2016)Tonight, the second season of Younger comes to a close. Last week, Liza threatened Thad that if he didn’t tell Kelsey he was cheating on her, she would do it for him. Meanwhile, Empirical was busy trying to prepare for the launch of the latest fantasy novel from their biggest author – an obvious nod to George R. R. Martin and his “A Song of Ice and Fire.” They were auditioning actresses to portray the heroine at the launch party when Liza walked in, and the lecherous author immediately wanted her to be the one to wear the Slave Leia-like costume. Meanwhile, Thad showed up to Liza’s apartment to try to convince her not to talk to Kelsey, when he ran into Liza’s daughter – and knew he now had a bargaining chip. He met with Liza in the city and threatened to go public about her age, but Liza told Thad that she was going to tell Kelsey the truth and that she didn’t care what he did. However, she soon didn’t have to worry about any of that, because as she walked away, a steel girder came falling from the sky and landed right on top of Thad!

What a shocking, unexpected, but totally effective turn of events! It looks like Liza’s secret is safe for a little longer, but how is Kelsey going to take the news of her fiance’s untimely death? And what about Liza – how will this brush with death affect her? Will she finally just come clean on her own? And what about her love life – will she get back with Josh, will she finally make a move on Charles, or will she find love somewhere else?

On tonight’s episode, “No Weddings & a Funeral,” tragedy strikes, and Liza wonders if she should end her 26-year-old life forever.

Learn what decisions Liza makes tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, The Middle, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Heartbeat, Arrow, Supernatural, Young & Hungry, Baby Daddy, and The Americans.

Jenny’s Choice

chicagopd323smallIt’s been three weeks since the last new episode of Chicago PD, and that one was very intense and emotional, especially for Halstead. He was working at his side job, security for the medical-marijuana dispensary, when they were attacked during a run to the bank to put the money in the safety-deposit box. They were boxed in and then shot at, and unfortunately, Terry, one of the men working with Halstead, was killed. Even more sad, the man left behind a wife and family. Halstead was determined to help find the robbers/killers. It turned out that the owner’s soon-to-be-ex-husband had hired a PI to find out if she were cheating, and he bugged the store. When he learned of the trip to the bank, he set it all up. In the end, they recovered the money, caught and/or shot the bad guys, and Halstead turned the dispensary owner down again when she asked him out, telling her he was seeing someone. It was even more heartbreaking when Jay spoke to Terry’s wife and she revealed that he’d just been accepted into the police academy. Jay asked if he could take the letter, and she agreed, but we have no idea why he did that. Seems…odd. In the end, it was very moving because he and Erin went together to Terry’s funeral.

I liked hearing Jay reference his relationship with Erin. The show isn’t ramming it down our throats – actually, I would love to see a bit more of it, maybe something in their off time, like the funeral, but something happy. Fortunately, we do get to see a little bit of their relationship tonight, given the episode description, so yay!

On tonight’s episode, “Kasual with a K,” while responding to a call of shots fired, Voight and the team come across a secret battered-woman’s shelter and discover the owner has been wounded and a resident of the shelter has been kidnapped. The team faces a challenge as the gunman is still at large and the identities of the women are kept confidential. Meanwhile, Burgess and Roman go undercover to track down a man robbing people by catfishing them on a dating app, and Lindsay opens up to Halstead about her past.

See if the team can help the women and the shelter tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Heartbeat, Rosewood, The Goldbergs, Hell’s Kitchen, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Wahlburgers, black-ish, & Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

criminalminds323smallCriminal Minds has been playing with our emotions the last few weeks to the point of frustration, and yet I need to find out what happens. Last week, Morgan came back to work, already married to Savannah, who is very pregnant, which is beautiful and happy – and in a show like this, that isn’t good. It would seem that the moment anyone is happy on this show, we end up having a tragedy like we did when Morgan and Savannah were shot at in the final moments of last episode. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens, and I really hope that we don’t lose Morgan or Savannah and the baby.

On tonight’s episode, “A Beautiful Disaster,” when an UnSub targets the BAU, the team goes into action to find out who is responsible.

Find out if everyone survives tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago PD, Heartbeat, Rosewood, Hell’s Kitchen, Law & Order: SVU, and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
