Tonight is the 1-hour series premiere of Brockmire on IFC at 10/9c. The series follows Jim Brockmire (Hank Azaria), a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered an embarrassing public meltdown live on the air a decade ago after discovering his wife’s infidelity. Now, looking to reclaim his career, reputation, and love life, Brockmire takes a job in a small American rust belt town, calling minor league baseball games for the Morristown Frackers. Amanda Peet co-stars as Jules, the strong-willed and hard-drinking proud owner of the Frackers. Tyrel Jackson Williams also stars alongside Azaria and Peet.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Talk Show the Game Show on TruTV at 10/9c. Based on comedian Guy Branum’s popular live comedy show, this is a hilarious mashup of two beloved television formats that pits celebrities against each other for the title of “Best Guest of the Night.” Each week, celebrity guests become contestants as they compete in various talk show-inspired challenges and are judged and awarded points for their performances. Those who will brave the scrutiny of the comedic panel of judges roasting them along the way — including Emmy(R)-winning writer Karen Kilgariff — are Chelsea Handler, Maria Bamford, John Sally, and Wanda Sykes.

Tonight is the complete first season premiere of American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story on Amazon at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. The series tells the story of Playboy magazine’s charismatic founder, Hugh Hefner, who set out to disrupt the status quo and created one of the most recognizable brands in history. The docuseries combines archival footage, pulling from thousands of hours from Hefner’s personal archives; interviews with notable figures including Jesse Jackson, Gene Simmons and Bill Maher; and cinematic reenactments. The show begins in post-war America and takes us through the launch of Playboy magazine in 1953 and the next six decades of Hefner’s life and career. As he built his empire, Hefner became both a social justice advocate and a target of the conservative movement while becoming an outspoken defender of civil rights, freedom of speech, gay rights and, of course, sexual freedom. The series is the result of unprecedented access to thousands of hours of never-before-seen footage from both Hefner’s and the Playboy archives and Hefner’s personal scrapbooks, which number more than 2,900 and constitute a Guinness World Record. The 90-year-old Hefner has been deeply involved in the development and production of American Playboy, imbuing the series with rich first-person accounts and never-before-told stories.

Tonight is the series premiere of First Dates on NBC at 8/7c. Based on a hit U.K. format, this unique hourlong series offers an authentic look at a variety of real first dates happening over one night at the same restaurant in Chicago. The show features daters from cities across the country, and of all ages, sexualities and dating experience. Using a fly-on-the-wall and hidden-camera approach, viewers will be along for the ride as the dates unfold. Some dates could be wildly successful, while others strike out in hilariously awkward fashion. Never has dating been captured in a more real and relatable way. At the end of each hour, the daters must reveal to one another if they’d like to see each other again or if it will be back to love’s drawing board! Ellen DeGeneres serves as executive producer and Drew Barrymore hosts.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Toy Box on ABC at 8/7c. In each episode, inventors present their toy concepts to a group of mentors that include Dylan’s Candy Bar owner Dylan Lauren, toy guru Jim Silver, and Pixar Creative Director of Consumer Products Jen Tan. If the toy maker gets past the mentors, they will move on to the Toy Box, where a panel of young, no-holds-barred judges that include Sophia Grace Brownlee (The Ellen Degeneres Show), Aalyrah Caldwell (Uncle Buck), Toby Grey (The Unexpected John Cena Prank), and Noah Ritter (The Ellen Degeneres Show) decide which toy moves on to the finals and eventually crowned the winner. Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) hosts.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of You the Jury on FOX at 9:01/8:01c. For the first time ever, this show will give the biggest jury pool in history – America – the power to decide the outcome of some of the most explosive, real-life, ripped-from-the-headline civil cases. With FOX News’ Jeanine Pirro hosting, the show’s prosecution and defense – including attorneys Jose Baez, who defended Casey Anthony; Benjamin Crump, who has fought for justice for Trayvon Martin; and Joseph Tacopina, who has represented some of the biggest stars in America; as well as Areva Martin, Mike Cavalluzzi and Charla Aldous – will question and cross-examine the litigants and expert witnesses, as they present their arguments to America and former judge of the Superior Court of California LaDoris Cordell. The cases will address hot-button issues that define America today. Whether it’s online trolling and the limits of free speech; the constitutional clash of gay rights with religious freedom; or whether someone’s death was the result of a tragic accident or something far more sinister, the show will investigate the law and the intense human stories behind it. In a dramatic twist, the closing arguments will be presented by the plaintiff and the defendant as they sit across from one another. Once the cases are presented, it will be up to America to decide who will prevail. Viewers will have the opportunity to vote for approximately five minutes, via text and the FOX Now App, after the case has been presented. At the end of the East/Central time zone broadcast, “America’s Verdict” will be revealed. The vote on the verdict is 100% live and binding and it will reflect the decision made by the biggest jury in history – the American public. However, when the West Coast votes, if the cumulative votes (East/Central and West Coast/Mountain Time Zone combined) lead to a different verdict, the original verdict will be overturned as the final outcome of the case.

Tonight is the series premiere of Nate and Jeremiah by Design on TLC at 9/8c. TLC makes a move back into the property space in a new series with interior designer and author Nate Berkus and interior designer and husband Jeremiah Brent. Their first venture into TV together follows the couple inside and outside of the home, as they juggle married life and raising their baby daughter, Poppy, while helping distressed homeowners turn a disaster into a dream home. In each one-hour episode, Nate and Jeremiah use their talent and irresistible charm to transform lives through design, rescuing homeowners who have gone over budget and over schedule on renovation projects and cannot see an end in sight. With budget at the forefront and the couple’s lifestyle in mind, Nate and Jeremiah boldly revisit the home’s layout to build a practical-yet-stylish space. They then search high and low for unique design pieces to bring character and a personal touch into these refreshed dwellings. But the joys and challenges that Nate and Jeremiah encounter professionally are nothing in comparison to those faced in their most important job, as fathers to baby Poppy. The proud parents bring the audience inside their private life to see firsthand how they balance demanding careers and spending time with “the girl that changed everything.”

Tonight is also the 2-hour series premiere of The Son on AMC at 9/8c. Based on Philipp Meyer’s New York Times best-selling and Pulitzer Prize finalist novel, this one-hour drama is a sweeping family saga spanning 150 years and three generations of the McCullough family. The series traces the transformation of Eli McCullough (Pierce Brosnan), the charismatic family patriarch, from good-natured innocent to calculating killer. He loses everything on the wild frontier, setting him on the path to building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth and privilege. Eli’s eldest son Pete (Henry Garrett), has grown up in his father’s shadow and struggles to make him proud while forging his own identity. Pete’s strong-willed daughter, Jeannie (Sydney Lucas) idolizes her grandfather and despite being raised in a male-dominated world, rejects her fate of existing solely to marry and bear children. Eli’s ruthlessness pits him against his wealthy Spanish neighbor, Pedro Garcia (Carlos Bardem) and his quest for power triggers consequences that span generations. Shared through a series of flashbacks, The Son pulls viewers into the world of young Eli McCullough (Jacob Lofland) and his father figure, Comanche war chief, Toshaway (Zahn McClarnon) and deftly explores the McCullough’s rise to become one the most powerful family dynasties in Texas.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Hidden Money Makeover on TLC at 10/9c. Design expert Jill Martin and handyman Gage Cass show people around the country that their dream makeover isn’t out of reach. The jam-packed hour features real-life homeowners who turn their clutter into cash, and transform their eyesore living spaces into aesthetically-pleasing parts of the home.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Road Hauks on History Channel at 10/9c. The show follows the creation of custom off-road vehicles that pay homage to the past while still maintaining a modern, rugged look. Kenny Hauk and his crew of expert mechanics and fabricators at Hauk Designs are history buffs who pride themselves on the ability to make builds that are both historic and have high-horsepower. Hauk began his business out of his parents’ garage and has grown the company into a world-renowned off-road automotive shop. The team’s inspiration for vehicles has no limits. From a Colt .45 handgun to a steam locomotive to a Viking battering ram, they transform all eras of history into their builds. Hauk executes his designs with the help of his team including lead mechanic Rick, lead fabricator Rob, mechanic Clint, operations manager Justin, technician Josh Moe, and his wife and part owner Vianna.

Tonight is also the season premiere of Murder Made Me Famous on Reelz at 8/7c.

Finally, tonight is a new episode of Saturday Night Live on NBC at 11:29/10:29c, with host Louis C.K. & musical guest The Chainsmokers.
