Tonight is the series premiere of Lost in Transition on TLC at 10/9c. Most couples face great trials and tribulations over the course of their relationship. But imagine navigating life’s great milestones — marriage, children, building a home — knowing that you identify as a different gender. And imagine what must go through a woman’s mind when her husband finally builds up the courage to share with her this life-altering truth. This new docuseries profiles the deeply personal stories of four couples currently living through this reality, as they attempt to make sense of their new normal. Each hour-long episode will chronicle the lives of four couples during the most trying time in their marriages, delving into the confusion, disappointment and uncertainty surrounding them. In each relationship, the wife has recently found out that her husband has grappled with his gender identity for years and has made the brave decision to become the woman he is inside. Throughout the course of the show, viewers will witness each couple’s journey as they share this news with family and friends, take steps toward the husband’s transition and embrace their newly evolved relationships.

Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of The Great American Read on PBS at 8/7c. This eight-part series explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey). It investigates how and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience. The television series features entertaining and informative documentary segments, with compelling testimonials from celebrities, authors, notable Americans and book lovers across the country. It is comprised of a two-hour launch episode in which the list of 100 books is revealed, five one-hour theme episodes that examine concepts common to groups of books on the list, and a finale, in which the results are announced of a nationwide vote to choose America’s best-loved book. The series is the centerpiece of an ambitious multi-platform digital, educational and community outreach campaign, designed to get the country reading and passionately talking about books.
Tonight is also the series premiere of Our Wild Life on TLC at 10/9c. Following the lively Abrams, a modern-day family with a twist, the show features lovable matriarch Bobbi Jo and her husband Jerry Abrams and their 84 kids, but only three of them are human! With 16 acres of land at their fingertips, the Abrams have adopted and nurtured 81 animals, many of which reside in their home. Their extended family includes a zebra and camel as well as kangaroos, alpacas, llamas, wallabies and a recently adopted sloth. Throughout the series, viewers will get a chance to tag along with this lovable, blended family as they navigate the everyday joys and challenges that come along with raising children, while also managing the havoc that naturally arises as a result of tending to a house full of animals.
