Jenny’s Choice

Hey ya’ll! It’s been a while – slow summer so far, huh? But tonight is a new show that I’ve been looking forward to since I heard about it months ago: ABC’s Take Two, which comes from Terri Miller & Andrew Marlow, the exec producers of Castle, and starring Rachel Bilson (The OC, Hart of Dixie) & Eddie Cibrian (Rosewood, CSI: Miami, Third Watch). Bilson plays actress Sam Swift, the former star of a hit cop series who had a breakdown caught by the paparazzi and was sent to rehab. Once released, her friend/manager comes to her with a possible new role as a private investigator, but Sam wants to learn the ropes, so her manager sets her up with lone-wolf private investigator Eddie Valetik (Cibrian). He isn’t happy about what he considers a babysitting gig, but by the end of the first episode, he realizes she can be an asset if he lets her.

I’ve seen the premiere, and I really enjoyed it. It’s a fun show – lighthearted, easy to watch, and Bilson and Cibrian have a great chemistry. I haven’t watched her since The OC, which I loved her in as Summer, but I absolutely love Eddie Cibrian, and this show is no exception. The show is a bit reminiscent of Castle with their chemistry and fun, light story lines. Murder? Sure. But it’s definitely a comedic drama – it feels a bit like a romantic comedy movie turned into a TV series. Sign me up.

On tonight’s episode, “Take Two,” the former star of cop series shadows a private investigator as part of a plan to restart her stalled career.

See if you’ll take the case tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Match Game & Beat Bobby Flay.
