Last time on S.W.A.T., when a Mexican federal agent undercover with a drug-dealing gang went missing, Jessica Cortez and Chris went undercover down in Mexico to try to find him and rescue him. Cortez was undercover with them before and helped bring some of the old guard to justice, so she was their “in” with the gang again. The rest of the SWAT team stayed back in LA to try to track the missing agent there at home. It was rough for them because Jessica and Chris had to go in without any coms whatsoever. Jessica had to play up a relationship with the new head of the gang, and it all worked great…until it didn’t. They found out where the guy was being held just before their cover was blown, but it all worked out. The team found him safe (not unharmed, but better off than it could have been!) and Cortez and Chris got back home safely themselves. Meanwhile, Hondo visited his mom to help her around the house, and she talked with him about some of the rough time he’s going through. After his breakups with Cortez and then the attorney, Hondo is beginning to spiral emotionally, I guess, and that starts to affect his work on tonight’s episode, which should be interesting, especially since Deacon is having such bad money problems, given the issues with the house and the new baby on the way. So that should be fun to see…

On tonight’s episode, “Encore,” the SWAT team races to find a militant group that escaped their capture months earlier, when the criminals take hostages in exchange for a $500 million ransom from five corporations they deem corrupt. Also, Hondo’s emotional turmoil begins to affect his team leadership.

See if the team can find the bad guys tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, The Titan Games, Top Chef, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Dr. Pimple Popper, Will & Grace, & Beat Bobby Flay.

Last week, one of the funniest stoner shows on TV came back when Ilana & Abbi celebrated Ab’s “30th” birthday on Broad City with a five-mile hike from the northern tip of Manhattan to the southern one. I happen to know Abbi is really 34, but that’s okay, let’s roll with it. The other gimmick that they laid into this episode was that Ilana was recording the whole birthday adventure on her phone and posting it to some social media site with “filters” that make it seem sort of like an Instagram thing maybe? The two ideas work well together, though I’m not sure the episode would have held up well if they went with just one and not the other. After a brief stop at the Morris Jumel Mansion, they soon fell inside a manhole and Ilana hurt her foot. That was bound to happen, as she was wearing expensive platform sandals unsuitable for city hiking, so they headed to the Midtown mall.

They acted like the stoner geeks they were as they picked new sneakers out for Ilana. Abbi made the super big choice to get a second credit card to get a discount on the sneakers, which she decided to buy for her bestie. On the way out of the shoe store, they found a lost girl, who they decided to rescue. In the course of taking her to the mall Info desk, they of course kept taking selfies with the girl. The angry mom soon came up and yelled at them for kidnapping her child. This woman turned out to be someone Abbi knew in college, “Cheese.” Cheese was infuriated but had to tend to her four kids. Abbi & Ilana then met some friends for lunch at a fancy Jewish diner. Next they danced where the Titanic was once docked but dropped Ilana’s phone in the water on accident. That’s okay… They could switch to Abbi’s phone.

They finally arrived at Battery Park, the southern tip of Manhattan. But that sneaky bitch Cheese crept up and slapped Abbi’s phone to the ground, breaking it. They all were angry at first but came to a common ground. After Cheese left in peace, Abbi and Ilana saw a rare triple rainbow stretching over Staten Island. With no phone to record it, they were worried no one would believe they saw it. They guessed they had to just “experience it.” Like, basic, amirite? This was a great start to another season of Abbi & Ilana. If you’ve never seen it, it’s kind of like what Workaholics would be if the stars were girls in New York City.

On tonight’s episode, “Shework & S**t Bucket,” Ilana embarks upon her latest moneymaking opportunity when she opens an outdoor workspace for New York City’s smokers; Abbi stands up to her landlord after he refuses to update her plumbing.

Find out how it goes for Ilana & Abbi tonight on Comedy Central at 10/9c.

I’m also watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Gotham, Star Trek: Discovery, & The Orville.

Grey’s Anatomy has been taking us on an emotional rollercoaster as usual. Meredith is torn between Deluca and Linc, but personally I want her with Deluca because the chemistry is incredible. Elsewhere, Amelia has been thrown for a loop because she found out Teddy is pregnant with Owen’s baby…which definitely complicates things between them a lot. Amelia belongs with Owen, and I am beyond tired of Teddy’s character, so I really hope they don’t break the former up just so Owen can be with Teddy. Regardless of what happens, I am deeply invested in this show yet again.

On tonight’s episode, “The Winner Takes It All,” Amelia and Koracick tackle a daunting surgery on Catherine while Richard and Jackson hope for the best. Meanwhile, Richard urges Meredith to visit her father, Thatcher, before his time is up.

To find out if Catherine survives her surgery, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, S.W.A.T., The Titan Games, Top Chef, A Million Little Things, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Law & Order: SVU.
