Tonight is the series premiere of 1969 on ABC at 10/9c. New docu-series 1969 weaves together rarely told stories of the moon landing, Manson murders, Chappaquiddick scandal, and Woodstock with that of Nixon’s first year in office, John Lennon’s Bed-Ins for Peace, FBI shootouts with black activists, and the Stonewall Uprising. The six-part series features gripping first-hand accounts of how these events came together at the same dizzying, chaotic time. The six-part docu-series’ original score by multiplatinum producer and GRAMMY(R)-nominated artist, producer and songwriter Salaam Remi pays tribute to the revolutionary sounds of a year that reshaped rock.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Games People Play on BET at 10/9c. Starring Lauren London, Sarunas J. Jackson, Parker McKenna Posey, Karen Obilom and Jackie Long, this is a sexy, stylized drama about the L.A. high life, where everyone plays to win. Based on the popular book by Angela Burt-Murray “Games Divas Play,” the show follows a desperate basketball wife trying to protect her family, a tenacious journalist struggling to rebuild a tarnished career, and a scandalous groupie looking to become a star, who all find it is murder trying to stay on top.

Finally, tonight is the complete first season premiere of Bonding on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. Bonding centers on the relationship between former high-school BFFs, Pete, a recently out gay man, and Tiff, a grad student and secretly one of New York City’s top dominatrixes, who reconnect in an unexpected way years later. The dark comedy is loosely based on the life experiences of Rightor Doyle (Barry, You’re the Worst, Nerve), who serves as writer, director, showrunner, and executive producer. The show stars Brendan Scannell, D’Arcy Carden, Eric Berryman, Micah Stock, Theo Stockman, & Zoe Levin.

Tonight is the complete first season premiere of Chambers on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister. The show stars Uma Thurman, Tony Goldwyn, Griffin Powell-Arcand, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Lillya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Sarah Mezzanotte, & Sivan Alyra Rose.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Street Food on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. Season one explores nine countries across Asia, highlighting the stories of perseverance that bring each country’s cuisine and culture to life. For some of the featured local legends, creating street food began as a necessity, but through generations of refining and honoring family traditions, it became their life-long passion to continue to uplift and bring joy to their communities. Street Food goes beyond the delicious food to document the blood, sweat and tears that goes into each iconic dish. From Jay-Fai who taught herself to cook after losing everything in a fire to 100-year old Mbah Lindu who hasn’t changed her recipe since she started, each dish is as unique as the people who create them.

Tonight is the series premiere of Portals to Hell on Travel Channel at 10/9c. Hauntings exist all over the world, but there are a few locations with sordid pasts and dark histories that are especially sinister and purported to be doorways to the spirit underworld. Television personality and executive producer Jack Osbourne, and paranormal researcher and investigator Katrina Weidman, join forces to explore this phenomenon, investigating each haunted location in search of irrefutable evidence that a spirit world exists, and death is not the end. In each of the eight hour-long episodes, Osbourne and Weidman dive headfirst into a different historical site, examining unusual incidents while utilizing specialized technology and a network of experts to help document and uncover the truth. The quest for answers takes the duo to New Orleans’ infamous LaLaurie Mansion — where they are the first and only paranormal team to ever investigate the disturbing hauntings within its walls. They also investigate legendary spooky spots including Bobby Mackey’s Music World in Kentucky, Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania, the Alaskan Hotel in Juneau, Ohio’s Twin City Opera House, Strawberry River Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Utah’s Skinwalker Ranch, Pennsylvania’s Emerald Hill Estate and the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia.
