If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/17/20

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Megan’s Choice

All Rise is one of my favorite shows this season for so many reasons, but one of the biggest is the fact that it is a female-led drama. Lola is a strong female judge, but she is also flawed, which makes her relatable to all of us. I enjoy the way she leads her courtroom not only with her brains but her heart, which makes her a more effective judge in my opinion. Her friendship with Mark is adorable, and I love how much they banter like siblings. It is a true platonic relationship, which in television doesn’t happen very often between men and women, so it really gives this show an edge over the other legal dramas.

On the last episode, Luke went a little overboard with a romantic gesture for Emily, which included a flash mob and a fish as a valentine’s gift. Emily didn’t know how to respond, because her ex-husband used elaborate gifts and gestures to make it up to her after he had been abusive. They came to an arrangement and understanding about how she needs him to approach these situations, and he was very receptive. Luke is such a sweet man, and I hope that they can develop their relationship further. Speaking of relationships… Lola and her husband are doing the long-distance thing, which I think will result in her marriage failing, but time will tell. Finally, Lola has been asked to help with Judge Brenner’s campaign research, and she is uncomfortable with the situation. She has already found out some questionable things about Brenner’s past at the other firms, and she is uncertain whether or not she should dig deeper. It is difficult to say how this story will play out, but I am invested completely in the outcome.

On tonight’s episode, “My Fair Lockdown,” Lola’s world spins out of control when she presides over the trial of Emily’s client, who rejects the rule of law and seizes control of the courtroom.

To see if they can survive this dangerous situation, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Bull, America’s Got Talent: The Champions, Bob Hearts Abishola, The Neighborhood, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Prodigal Son, and All American.
