Tonight is the series premiere of Secrets of the Zoo: Down Under on Nat Geo WILD at 10/9c. The series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run one of the world’s most famous and magnificent zoos. For the 240 keepers and vets who care for the more than 5,000 animals at the park, this is no nine-to-five job! In fact, it’s a second home. In this entertaining and compelling series, no area of the park’s 52 acres, set on the spectacular Sydney Harbour, is off limits. The zookeepers are the conduit to some amazing animal stories, including a giraffe that’s been transported from Dubbo, a captured shark that’s been nurtured for release and a cranky elephant that’s refusing to mate.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Dispatches from Elsewhere on AMC at 10:08/9:08c. The show centers around four ordinary people who feel there’s something missing in their lives, but they can’t quite put their finger on what it is. This diverse foursome is brought together by chance – or perhaps it’s by design – when they stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life. As they begin to accept the mysterious “Dispatches from Elsewhere” challenges, they come to find that the mystery winds deeper than they imagined, and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic. It stars Jason Segel, Sally Field, Andre Benjamin, Eve Lindley, Richard E. Grant, & Tara Lynne Barr.

Tonight is the series premiere of Master Distiller on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Three competitors. Three judges. One winning spirit. In an all-new Discovery Channel series, Master Distiller, America’s top legal and outlaw distillers go head to head in the ultimate booze-making competition to see who has what it takes to join the ranks of the greats and win the title of Master Distiller. Across the country, distillers carry on a centuries old tradition. While some operate on the legal side, others perfect their craft in the shadows and beyond the reach of the law. Now, these diverse distillers will compete to earn their place in liquor-making history. Judged by three legendary Moonshiners — Mark, Digger and Tim of Discovery’s Moonshiners — three competitors will faceoff each week in a series of challenges focused on making a specific type of spirit, including American whiskey, rum, gin, mountain brandy, and mezcal among others. Beyond the necessary amount of skill required to complete the challenges, these competitors will need to prove their knowledge of the craft and demonstrate profound creativity as they convert raw local ingredients into authentic, handcrafted spirits that will impress the most seasoned of distilling experts. The champion of each episode will receive a limited release of their winning recipe through Sugarlands Distilling Co. With bragging rights on the line and a limited run of their winning product on the shelf, who will have what it takes to be named “Master Distiller”?

Overnight last night was the premiere of Fundamental. Gender Justice. No Exceptions. on YouTube. This is a brand new 5 episode documentary series that follows dynamic activists from five countries who are disrupting the status quo and radically altering the course of history. What does it really look like to be a feminist leader in 2020? Partnering with Refinery29 on the series, the first episode of “Fundamental” will launch on March 4, 2020 on Refinery29’s official YouTube channel and YouTube.com/Learning. Fundamental is a character-driven documentary series that invites global audiences to engage directly with grassroots movements who are standing up for our fundamental human rights. Each episode profiles a distinct set of remarkable leaders mobilizing to write new futures for themselves, their societies, and the world — working on issues from ending child marriage in Pakistan, to pursuing LGBTQI liberation in Georgia, and racial justice in the United States.

Tonight is also the 75-minute series premiere of Dave on FXX at 10/9c. This is a half-hour comedy based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd, known best by his stage name Lil Dicky. The show is centered on a suburban neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. Now he must convince his closest friends, because with their help, he might actually convince the world. It also stars Christine Ko, Andrew Santino, GaTa, Taylor Misiak, & Travis Bennett.

Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Tournament of Champions on Food Network at 10/9c. It’s madness on Food Network this March as Guy Fieri hosts and executive produces an all new culinary competition where 16 of the nation’s most celebrated chefs face-off. During the five-part tournament, the chefs’ skills will be pushed to the limit, as they go head-to-head in a single elimination bracket-style competition, where a randomizer machine determines the protein, produce, equipment, cooking style, and time for each of the cook-offs. The pressure is on and emotions are high throughout this unpredictable tournament, as the elite chefs enter this blind competition not knowing who their opponents will be, or what cooking challenges they will face. The intensity increases in each sudden-death each round of the tournament as the coveted spots decrease from 16 to eight in the second round, then to four, until there are only two chefs in the final round. The 16 chefs include: Alex Guarnaschelli, Antonia Lofaso, Brooke Williamson, Darnell Ferguson, Eric Greenspan, Maneet Chauhan, Marcel Vigneron, Richard Blais, Amanda Freitag, Beau MacMillan, Christian Petroni, Elizabeth Falkner, Jet Tila, Marc Murphy, Michael Voltaggio, & Rocco DiSpirito. My pick for winner? Alex Guarnaschelli, but damn, that’s quite the lineup!!

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Twenties on BET at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. Created and written by Lena Waithe when she was in her early 20s, the eight-episode half-hour series follows the adventures of a queer black girl, Hattie, and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia, who spend most of their days talking ‘ish’ and chasing their dreams. Twenties is a scripted show about friendship, finding love, and messing everything up along the way. It stars Jonica T. Gibbs, Christina Elmore, Gabrielle Graham, Sean “Big Sean” Anderson, & Sophina Brown.

Click here for series premiere information

Overnight last night was the complete first season premiere of Amazing Stories on Apple TV+. A reimagining of the original anthology series, each episode will transport the audience to worlds of wonder through the lens of today’s most imaginative filmmakers, directors and writers.

Overnight last night was also the complete first season premiere of Hillary on Hulu. A remarkably intimate portrait of a public woman, Hillary interweaves revealing moments from never-before-seen 2016 campaign footage with biographical chapters of her life. Featuring exclusive interviews with Hillary Rodham Clinton herself, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, friends, and journalists, the series examines how she became at once one of the most admired and vilified women in the world.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Most Dangerous Animal of All on FX at 8/7c, followed three more episodes, ending with the season finale at 11/10c. Based on the New York Times best-selling book of the same name, this is a four part documentary series that explores one man’s search for the father who abandoned him, only to uncover the worst: he believes his father is one of the most infamous serial killers in American history. This is an honest depiction of true life and true crime unexpectedly merging to upend one man’s understanding of his own identity.
