Tonight is the series premiere of Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children on HBO at 8/7c. This is a five-part documentary series offering an unprecedented look at the abduction and murder of at least 30 African American children and young adults in Atlanta between 1979 and 1981. Forty years later, with the official re-opening of the case by Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the series tells the inside story of this shocking tragedy, shedding new light on the horrific killings through interviews with those closest to the children and the investigation, as well as exclusive archival material. The series tracks the story from the initial disappearance and discovery of two murdered teenage boys to the fear that progressively gripped the city, ultimately building to the indictment and prosecution of 23-year-old Wayne Williams, revealing the rush to officially shut down the case and the continuing deluge of questions that remain unanswered.

Saturday

Saturday is the series premiere of Alaska Animal Rescue on Nat Geo WILD at 9/8c. This groundbreaking series follows wildlife heroes from three renowned conservation centers as they respond to animals in need. Whether caring for a stranded sea lion, an orphaned lynx or an injured eagle, these are the people on the front lines, willing to do whatever it takes to rescue and preserve Alaska’s wildlife. The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward monitors the state’s 6,640 miles of coastline, helping a diverse range of marine life, including walruses, whales, otters and octopuses. Alaska Raptor Center in Sitka specializes in the state’s airborne animals, like bald eagles, owls and other birds of prey. And the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage takes on the biggest and most iconic land animals, including bears, wolves and bison. These dedicated first responders, veterinarians and animal caretakers work hands on – day in and day out – through dangerous terrain and unforgiving climates to rescue and rehabilitate these animals to make sure this wild state stays wild.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Saved by the Barn on Animal Planet at 10/9c. While some people dream of leaving their desk jobs for one of passion, most don’t go the distance, but for Dan McKernan, it was the chance to trade in a good living for a great life. Dan McKernan picked up from his six-figure tech job in Austin, TX and left it all behind to take over his family’s 140-year-old farm in Michigan and transform it into the “Barn Sanctuary,” a sanctuary for rescued farm animals that have experienced abuse, neglect, and much more. In this exciting new series, audiences join Dan and his family as they learn the ropes of their new life on the farm, give these barnyard animals a second chance at life, and experience the compassion Dan brings to every animal in his care. Dan travels across the country to rescue barn animals including a set of roosters from Chicago who were forced to fight each other; Charlie, a blind goat; two ducklings who undergo special water therapy; Lola, a goat who needs prosthetics for her back hooves; and many others farm animals that get the opportunity to be integrating into a new life at the Barn Sanctuary. Viewers will fall in love with Dan and his family, be inspired by the animals, relish in the rescues and rehabilitation, and delight at the warmth and humor it takes all in a day’s work!

Tonight is also the season finales of The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes on Oxygen at 7/6c, These Woods are Haunted on Travel Channel at 9/8c, and Critter Fixers: Country Vets on Nat Geo WILD at 10/9c.

As for Saturday Night Live, starting at 10/9c, they are airing the March 3, 2020 episode hosted (& performed by) Justin Timberlake. Then at 11:29/10:29c, they are airing a 90-minute “from home” special episode, so be sure to tune in if you’re a fan of the show!
