Recap/Review – Survivor – “Create a Little Chaos” – 10/10/12

Last episode, Matsing lost and sent Angie home 3-1. Over in Tandang, Pete started a new alliance and later found the immunity idol.

The mood around Matsing’s camp is so terrible, but I guess that losing three tribe members in nine days does that to a team. Russell continues to look for the immunity idol but says the audience probably thinks he’s stupid. How could you tell? Both other tribes already found it. Pete from Tandang decides to disturb the peace in his tribe by revealing RC’s immunity idol clue so Abi-Marie will get mad at her, and boy, did it work. Abi is furious with RC, while RC is terribly confused. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it because they aren’t losing yet. Over on Kalabaw, Jeff and Carter have created an alliance with Jonathan because he has they idol, but neither expect to bring him to the end with them. Poor Jonathan; hopefully he clues in!

Recap/Review – Survivor – “Don’t Be Blinded By The Headlights” – 9/26/12

Last episode, we met the veterans and new castmates, caught up with Jeff, and saw Zane leave after Matsing lost the challenge. From last episode, my favourite was Malcolm.

Contestant Drama:

Matsing (blue):
Coming home from tribal, and Russell can’t stop talking about how he thought he was going to be voted out. He says he wants to step back now, but that seems very doubtful. Angie and Malcolm are cuddling, as it’s pouring rain outside. The first thing I thought of was Rob and Amber and their romance that formed from it, but what is really occurring is Angie manipulated Malcolm. Or as Malcolm referred to it, “booty blindness.” When Roxy discovers them, she starts thinking about how to get rid of them, and she informs Russell of the information.

Recap/Review – Saving Hope – “Pink Clouds” – 9/13/12

Last week, Joel quit from Hope-Zion hospital, Gavin made some risky moves by caring for a patient, and Charlie woke up from his coma.

Keep in mind that in America, NBC cancelled this show and are only showing the final two episodes online, while in Canada CTV has given this show a second season for next summer.

First Medical Case:

A woman had a feeding tube put in so she can lose weight, but it has perforated her stomach. While in surgery, they discover some nodes and must do a biopsy to discover if it is gastric cancer. They get the results back while in surgery and try to remove as much of the cancer as they can. When Alex first tries to tell the woman about this development, she freezes up and has to tell them later. The woman decides against treatment because she wants to spend the rest of her life living instead of undergoing awful treatment. They end with a quiet marriage ceremony in the hospital.

Recap/Review – Saving Hope – “Ride Hard or Go Home” – 9/6/12

Last week, Charlie realized he was in the car when his parents died, a SARS outbreak made Shahir and Victor realize their love for each other, and Alex confronted Joel on his cheating.

Just as a side note, NBC pulled the last two episodes of this show, opting to air them on NBC.com only, but they are still airing in Canada.

First Medical Case:

Joel comes in to assist Tom Reycroft in setting a woman’s pelvis. She is a female jockey, who broke her pelvis after a bad fall. Joel discusses her two options: a slow non-surgical recovery, or a quick but very risky surgery. As the woman is anxious about getting back to her sport, she opts for the surgery, which Joel is uneasy about, but he goes for it anyway. During the surgery, he stops the drill as he realizes he has hit an artery and quickly calls in Alex to save the woman. The woman almost died, and she lost much of the feeling in her legs, which leaves for a ruined career.
