If We Controlled Your Remote – 12/4/11

The holidays are upon us, so I’m getting excited about all the holiday episodes that will be coming our way. Although I’m also a little sad, because during the holidays, we are going to be low on new television. šŸ™ *deep breath* Before I have a panic attack about the coming lack of television, let’s enjoy the new TV that is on tonight. Check out what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice #1

I love fairytales, and television, so the combination of both is delicious to me. Once Upon a Time is an amazing show that constantly pulls at your heart strings while entertaining your inner child with stories of our youth, spun into a TV show. Last week, we saw Emma and Archie save Henry from a sinkhole, and that made Regina very unhappy. We got to see how Jiminy Cricket came to be who he is. I loved every minute of this episode and am looking forward to tonight’s new episode.

On tonight’s episode, “The Shepherd,” David must choose between staying with Kathryn or leaving her to be with Mary Margaret, with whom he’s fallen deeply, and inexplicably, in love.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/9/11

Tomorrow is our Canadian Thanksgiving, but today is the day my family is having our dinner. I plan on being full of turkey, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pieā€”and sleepy. My grand plan is to enjoy dinner, and then sit back and enjoy some great television, because tonight is full of it! Let’s take a look at what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

Luckily, my choice tonight isn’t affected by the baseball finals that are on…I hate baseball. Tonight, I think you should be watching The Amazing Race, because after all these seasons, it still manages to deliver. I’ve been enjoying how they have been mixing it up this season, especially the double elimination. Ethan and Jenna, as well as Ron and Bill, were eliminated. It was like my dreams came trueā€”both of those teams annoyed me. šŸ™‚ Although the thing that was making me the most nuts was when people were losing out because they didn’t read the instructions on the sign. After that many years of watching The Amazing Race, people should know to always read EVERYTHING.

On tonight’s episode, “Don’t Lay Down on Me Now,” the race continues in Indonesia, where a mechanical problem leaves one team sidelined. Meanwhile, a confusing roadblock at an 8th Century Buddhist temple causes two rival duos to join forces to figure out the difficult mental challenge.

Also, don’t forget to record the CBS block of shows long because of football!

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/2/11

Last week was a super busy week in television, and my DVR is tired. Unfortunately, it won’t be getting much of a break, because this week will be even busier. Let’s take a look at what you should be watching tonight, and pace yourself, because this week is going to be a long one!

Megan’s Choice

Last week’s premiere of The Amazing Race really took us on a journey. I’ve yet to pick a favorite team, but I do find the flight attendant couple of Ron and Bill kind of annoying. Also, is it just me, or do they look a lot alike? They look like they’re related; I find it disconcerning. I’m also not a huge fan of Ethan and Jenna, for no other reason than they get on my nerves. šŸ™‚ I’m sure by the end of tonight’s episode, I’ll have people I really dislike and ones I do like.

On tonight’s episode, the race continues in Indonesia, where the teams face a double elimination.

Interview with “Boston Rob” Mariano from Around the World in 80 Ways

I recently got the chance to speak to ā€œBostonā€ Rob Mariano about his new show on HISTORY, Around the World in 80 Ways, which premieres on Sunday, October 2, at 10/9c.

From HISTORY: ā€œFor two adrenaline junkies attemptng to circumnavigate the globe using every conceivable mode of transportation, it’s not the destination that counts: it’s the journey itself. Hosts Robert ā€œBoston Robā€ Mariano and Dennis Anderson must get themselves around the world in 80 different ways, from rickshaws and hovercrafts to hang gliders and barrels.
