If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/8/13

What a crazy but amazing weekend in my house! We have added a puppy to my already insane household—but what a joy. 🙂 Zeus is an English Mastiff who is only 8 weeks old. The kids are overjoyed and I’m happy. The only family members who aren’t happy with this addition are our two cats, who have yet to come see me since I brought the little man home. They’ll get over it eventually, but until they do, I’ll cuddle my puppy and watch some great television. Let’s see what you should be watching.

thefollowing48smallThe Following has been hitting home runs since the premiere, and I cannot stop watching! This is one of those shows that keeps me intrigued from beginning to end, but also a show that makes me wonder where they’re going next. I was a little surprised by Claire going willingly to the cult, but seeing as they have her son, it makes sense. Where they’re going next, no one knows, but I’m excited to go there too!

On tonight’s episode, “The Curse,” Joe finds a follower that may be able to lead them to Carroll; Agent West returns possibly more affected by his run in with the cult than anyone realizes; Claire and Emma come together for the first time since Joey’s abduction.

To see how Claire looks her betrayer in the eyes, tune in to FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Following @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching The Voice and Bates Motel.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/2/13

I never thought I’d be glad it was Monday, but I am. There’s some great new TV on, and we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we think is can’t miss. 😉

Jenny’s Choice #1

castle41smallIt’s Castle Monday, people! That excites me more than you can possibly imagine. Last week, the focus was on Ryan, when he went back into an undercover assignment that he’d been in years before for fourteen months with the Irish mob in Staten Island. It got a little hairy there for a while, but the way he called out Esposito, Beckett, and Castle (LOL) was great—even though I agree with several people that…he gave the bad guys his REAL NAME. That would have been a bad idea in real life because even from prison, they could have found a way to get to him and his family. Speaking of… It was no great shock that Ryan’s wife Jenny is pregnant, but it was sweet all the same.

Tonight is the 100th episode of the show, and I’ve already seen it. Unlike Psych’s 100th episode last week, which I didn’t think was nearly as good as the hype claimed it would be (for a 100th episode OR for the Clue-theme…), tonight’s Castle is fantastic. There was great “case” stuff (in fact, more than one case…), some adorable relationship stuff, and great family stuff with Castle & Alexis especially. It truly made me laugh and smile the whole episode, and I’m looking forward to seeing it again tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “The Lives of Others,” when Castle is unable to work on a case due to a broken leg, he believes that he witnesses the murder of a woman in the apartment building across the street and is thrown into a murder mystery similar to Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window.

Don’t miss the fun and excitement tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ TV.com.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/18/13

Today is President’s Day in the US, which means for a lot of people, it’s a day off work & school. That’s good for my kiddo, who has an extra day to make up work from the three days he was sick last week! That also makes Monday a bit more bearable, doesn’t it? 😉 There is some great TV on tonight, whether your Monday is full of work and real life as normal or relaxation and laziness because you’ve got the day off, so check out what we think you should be watching.

Jenny’s Choice #1

castle218smallI know I recommend the same shows every Monday, but I just can’t help it. I simply adore Castle, and each week, I find myself loving it even more, even when an episode isn’t perfect. Last week was all about the Real Housewives of…-type “reality” show and a murder of one of the cast members. I abhor those types of shows, but watching the investigation into the murder of one of the fake show’s cast members was a lot of fun, mainly because of the great guest cast. I loved when Castle was able to tell what kind of knife it was and how expensive it was, and I loved when they burst in on the couple in the middle of sex. The son was a spineless numbnut who couldn’t stand up to his mother, and because of that, his fiancee killed the woman he really loved. But how much fun was Gates thinking Castle was trying to come on to her or get on her good side? Of course, the swoony part was Beckett’s gift to Castle being a drawer at her place. It was a huge step for her, and it made me tear up, like seriously.

I have been looking forward to tonight’s episode for a few weeks, since I first read about it. It’s part one of a two-part episode, and this is going to put a real strain on Castle, Beckett, and their relationship, as well as his relationship with the rest of the squad, I believe. Although the episode description below doesn’t explain why, you’ll see early on. It will be a tense, dramatic, and fun two episodes this week and next! I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s fantastic, emotional, and full of surprises. So much fun!

On tonight’s episode, “Target,” in the first of a two-episode story arc, Castle & Beckett begin a murder investigation that also exposes a plot to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman. Dylan Walsh (Unforgettable, Nip/Tuck) guest stars as FBI Agent Harris, an even-keeled professional brought in to help find the kidnappers.

If you’re a fan of the show or have been thinking of watching, do not miss it tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

It has been far too long since a new episode of Hart of Dixie, and tonight, we finally get one. When we left Bluebell, George’s dad had had a heart attack and needed surgery. Because of Zoe’s love for George, she gives in and calls her dad for a favor, even though they aren’t talking. Meanwhile, Wade grapples with learning his worth. I’m so stressed out about what Zoe is going to do with her love life! I want her with Wade, but it seems like she and George have an incredible bond.

On tonight’s new episode, “Heart to Hart,” Zoe has conflicted feelings about seeing her estranged father, world-renowned surgeon Ethan Hart, who has agreed to travel to Bluebell to perform surgery on George’s father (guest star Eric Pierpoint) as a favor to Zoe. Fearful of losing George, Lemon decides she must befriend Zoe in order to prevent her from telling George about Lemon’s affair with Lavon. Meanwhile, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rammer Jammer, the owner (guest star John Marshall Jones) hosts a signature cocktail contest between Wade and Shelley (guest star Deborah S. Craig).

Tune in to The CW at 9/8c to see what’s happening with our favorite Bluebell residents. Learn where to find episodes online of Hart of Dixie @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Voice, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Hawaii Five-0, Bones, and Smash.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/12/12

Did everyone have a good weekend? I did, except for forgetting about the time change—that really messed my schedule up. On a different note, TV is picking up this week, with more and more new shows. Last week saw the premiere of GCB, and later this week, we’ll see the premiere of Missing. Busy week, indeed, so enjoy a slower night for TV viewing and prepare for the week ahead. Let’s see what you should be watching.

Last week, the battle rounds started on The Voice, and it was a star studded event with the guest mentors there to help the team. I was pretty excited to see Kelly Clarkson there as a mentor for Team Blake, especially since I just got to see her in concert live last week. She was fabulous. Anyway, back to The Voice. Battle rounds last week were really good, and I’m happy with the choices made by the judges. It’s going to be a blood bath regardless, because the talent is so large this year.

On tonight’s episode, the battles continue, and we get to see the team leaders pitt their team members against each other. The advisers will join the mentors again this week, including Lionel Richie, Kelly Clarkson, Babyface, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Ne-Yo, and Robin Thicke.

To see which of the contestants survive for the live shows, tune in to NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Voice @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Smash.
