Tonight, the surreal comedy Man Seeking Woman returns for its third season on FXX. This highly-creative series follows the adventures of hopeless romantic Josh Greenberg (Jay Baruchel, How to Train Your Dragon, Undeclared) as he tries to find love again after being dumped by his longtime girlfriend. As the third season opens, Josh meets Lucy (Katie Findlay, How to Get Away with Murder), and while the pair immediately find love, Josh is not really a hit with Lucy’s roommates.

I had forgotten just how much fun this show was until I checked out tonight’s premiere. While this is the show’s third season, those who have never seen the series before can easily jump in and thoroughly enjoy tonight’s premiere. (Though I would highly recommend checking out the hilarious first two seasons.) The series is so cleverly written. I love the way that the writers depict these universally familiar aspects of relationships through seemingly ridiculous and surreal storylines. For example, tonight’s episode starts off as a timely parody of border security/illegal immigration as Lucy’s roommates try to keep Josh out of their apartment. Tonight’s premiere had me smiling throughout. Katie Findlay is an adorable and fun addition to the cast, and I look forward to seeing how Lucy and Josh’s relationship plays out over the upcoming episodes.

On tonight’s premiere, “Futon,” Josh and Lucy fall in love but struggle with the living arrangements.

See if Lucy and Josh can make things work tonight on FXX at 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, black-ish, Match Game, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Frequency, and Incorporated.

blindspot1012smallLast week on Blindspot, the team followed a tattoo to a corrupt Homeland Security employee who has been building video games that turn out to be plans for thieves on how to execute perfect robberies. In the end, the team unraveled the clues like they always do, reunited a mother (a CIA agent) with her daughter, who she thought was dead, but then the woman went to prison for murder and the daughter got sent to live with other family. It all tied in to Jane’s story, as well as Reade’s. Reade is still dealing with the fact that Freddie insinuated that Reade himself was also a victim of their coach, who’d sexually abused boys under his care. And Jane learned that the (supposed) reason Sandstorm is doing what they’re doing is that Shepherd’s family (parents and brother) all died as a result of the contamination of a lake they always went to. You could tell the story affected Jane, but I hope it doesn’t make her waver on whose side she’s on!

No one knows about Weller’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnancy yet, but that is going to have to come up this week, as Allie is back this week, working with the team to catch the bad guys. Eek!

On tonight’s episode, “Condone Untidiest Thefts,” after a prominent politician is almost killed during a rally, Weller and the team must work with U.S. Marshal Allie Knight (guest star Trieste Kelly Dunn) to take down a mob leader.

See if Allie can stay safe tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Lethal Weapon, Speechless, Criminal Minds, Frequency, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Property Brothers, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, Chicago PD, Cutthroat Kitchen, & That Awkward Game Show.

This season of Criminal Minds is going to look a little different than the past eleven. For one, Derek (Shemar Moore) retired from the FBI last season after his wife had a baby and he was held hostage by a bad guy. And second, after an altercation on set with a writer, Thomas Gibson was put on leave and then quickly fired, which means Hotch will only be in a couple (or few, I don’t know…) episodes. On a great note, though, the show rehired Paget Brewster as a series regular, which means Prentiss is back full-time! Also on board full-time as a series regular is Aisha Tyler (playing Dr. Tara Lewis) and new agent Luke Alvez, played by CSI: Miami vet Adam Rodriguez, who I loved on that show.

So who is taking over Hotch’s job as team leader? Some fans are suggesting Prentiss…and while that might work, I don’t see why Rossi isn’t the perfect person for the job – unless he doesn’t want it. Regardless, this season should be exciting as the team learns to work together and try to re-capture the serial killers who escaped from prison in the finale last season.

On tonight’s episode, “The Crimson King,” Agent Luke Alvez joins the BAU team, which is tasked with capturing a killer who escaped prison with 13 other convicts.

See how well the team works together tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Lethal Weapon, Speechless, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Whose Line is It Anyway?, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, Chicago PD, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

whoseline2016smallWe’ve had a bunch of finales the last couple of weeks, so it’ll be my great pleasure to watch a premiere instead, and there isn’t a better one right now than Whose Line Is It Anyway? on The CW. And there have been a LOT of remakes of shows, both with new characters and story lines and ones that just continue from where they left off. I was oh-so-thankful when they brought this one back, especially since they kept three of the funniest and most talented men on television: Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, and Ryan Stiles. If you haven’t seen the show, the basic premise is this: the performers are given a setting, style, or other instructions and have to come up with the funniest improve performances they can dream up – and what they dream up is AMAZING. It never fails to blow my mind just how creative and brilliant these performers are.

On tonight’s first episode, the guest comic is Gary Anthony Williams, while Alfonso Ribeiro also guests. Then on the second episode, the always fantastic Keegan-Michael Key guests.

Check out the always funny performances tonight on The CW at 9/8c & 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Kids BBQ Championship, Person of Interest, & Blindspot.

mikemolly516smallIt’s been a long road for Mike & Molly, but the journey ends tonight, with the double-episode series finale. The last few episodes have focused on Molly and Mike and their quest to adopt a baby. Last week, they learned that Frannie (Molly’s former student who was now homeless and pregnant) planned to dance on a speaker for a friend’s band after she had the baby, which Molly was very unhappy about. So Molly did some snooping in Frannie’s bag and found a letter from her sister, Maura. She got the bright idea to invite Maura to see Frannie. At first Frannie was mad and refused to speak to Maura because she’d left Frannie with their horrible parents, but the pair eventually made up, and Maura said she wanted Frannie AND the baby to move in with her. That was great for them but bad for Molly and Mike, who wouldn’t get to adopt her baby. Then in the next episode, they decided to try with an adoption agency. It went well…until they had to schedule a home visit. Mike invited Carl and Samuel over in order to have the “black friend” and “foreign friend” demographic covered, and Molly tried her best to make everyone and everything picture perfect. Of course, things went sideways, especially when Mike tried to lean on the crib, only to decapitate the baby doll when the side dropped. Needless to say, they didn’t get to adopt a baby through that agency.

We’ve been with Mike and Molly and their families from the very first meeting, to dating, marriage, and now them trying to start a family. So how will the series end? I’ve seen both episodes, and it really is a fun, sweet, and fitting ending. I’ll be sad to see the show go after tonight.

On tonight’s first episode, “Curse of the Bambino,” Carl convinces Mike to go with him to see his psychic and Peggy drags Molly to her church to pray for something they’ve all been waiting for. Melissa McCarthy directed the episode. Then on the series finale, “I See Love,” Mike and Molly gather with family and friends for a momentous occasion and reminisce about everything that led to this point.

See if Mike and Molly can get everything they want tonight on CBS starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Person of Interest & Blindspot.
