If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/17/13

Over the weekend, my DVR decided to lose its mind and crash—I lost everything! Good news is that the fall season hadn’t started yet, so I didn’t lose any of the new shows. *phew* Very good news is that tonight, we are being spoiled by a few new shows, as well as a few season premieres. I am stoked. How about you? Let’s see what we’re all watching!

newgirl917smallTonight, New Girl returns to help us giggle the night away, and I couldn’t be happier. I am anxious to see how Nick and Jess are doing in the new season, because when we left them last season, they had decided to continue to date, even though they didn’t know where it was going. Cece decided not to get married and told Schimdt he was the one for her. It was a romantic episode, but still quite funny. I am looking forward to a whole new season full of quirky humor and amusing relationship issues.

On tonight’s premiere, “All In,” when Nick and Jess head to a Mexican beach town, Nick runs into trouble with the authorities; Schmidt must choose between Elizabeth and Cece; Winston becomes obsessed with finishing a puzzle.

To see where our favorites are this season, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Dads, Capture, The Million Second Quiz, and The Mindy Project.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/14/13

I’m not sure what kind of drugs Mother Nature is on, but whatever it is, she needs to stop! This weather is ridiculous up here in Canada—one minute, it’s warm, the next we have a frost warning. Hopefully the weather gets sorted out before next week when soccer season starts for my daughter. While I worry about whether or not the frost tonight is going to hurt my plants, let’s see what’s on TV that you should be watching.

sytycd2013smallGrab your tutus and tap shoes. It’s that time of year again… So You Think You Can Dance returns tonight! It’s no secret that I love this show or that I am full of opinions about contestants, judges, and choreographers alike. I’m looking forward to a brand new season and hopefully some awesome new routines that take our breath away. Of course, there’s also the fact that we get to watch all the auditions first, which is always so amusing. Nothing like watching some crazy person in spandex take the stage with the strong belief they can dance…but they can’t. (Especially when Adam Shankman is guest judging, because he is the WORST at controlling his facial expressions, and it makes me laugh every time.)

On tonight’s season premiere, “Audition City 1,” dancers perform for the judges.

To see who soars and who has two left feet, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching NCIS: LA, NCIS, The Voice, Body of Proof, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Grimm, and Chopped.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/19/13

Old Man Winter has decided he’s not done with us yet. As I watch the blizzard outside my window, I am willing spring to come soon. I suppose the one thing this weather gives us is an excuse to cuddle up in front of the television and watch some delicious new TV… As if we needed another excuse. 😉 Check out what you should be watching tonight.

ncisla319smallI’m looking forward to tonight’s episode of NCIS: LA, especially because it looks like it’s the start of another NCIS spin-off. Last week’s episode was another intense one, with Sam at the centre while his wife went back undercover to help catch who was responsible for a hit on a Russian Mob member. While I love Sam (and yes, I love looking at him), I’m ready to see some other story lines dominate the screen time. The idea of a new spinoff is very interesting to me, despite how many people are complaining about not wanting another crime drama spin-off. Face it, people… There’s a reason why they’re still on air. Lots of other people love them.

The new team includes such gems as Kim Raver (24, Grey’s Anatomy) and John Corbett (Parenthood), and it promises to be a new twist that we’ve yet to see on the other two NCIS shows. Have an open mind and tune in to see the new team.

On tonight’s episode, “Red: Part One,” when a murder weapon in Idaho matches a case in Los Angeles, Callen and Sam head to Idaho to join NCIS: Red, a mobile team who travel to various locations to solve crimes.

To see if the two teams play nicely together, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching Hell’s Kitchen, NCIS, Body of Proof, Go On, New Girl, and The Mindy Project.

TV News – Renewals, Casting, & Pilots!

newsslideshowIt’s been a bit since I took the time to do a news post, but without further adieu, I’m here to bring you up to speed on some interesting news and renewals going on in “TV land.”

A little while ago, Twitter exploded with the news of a Boy Meets World spinoff called Girl Meets World, which would feature Riley, Cory and Topanga’s daughter. I am thrilled at the prospect of seeing some of my favorite characters from my childhood shows back on screen for my daughter to enjoy. Now they are adding Teo Halm to the cast as Riley’s brother, Elliott. Even more exciting is the fact that the original creator/executive producer Michael Jacobs is in charge of the pilot, which should assure us of some of the old brilliance intact. The pilot is being considered by Disney Channel for their 2013-14 schedule. TVLine.com

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/5/13

I usually don’t have a problem with Mondays, but yesterday was a doozy. Most of the day was good—hubby worked from home for the day, so we got to spend some extra time together—but then the day kind of turned to crap after the kiddo got home. I’m telling you, if you have a teenager, I feel for you. *sigh* Anyway, there’s some great TV on tonight, so I’m planning to relax tonight and enjoy myself. Here’s what we think you should be watching. 🙂

raisinghope25asmallLast week’s Raising Hope was too much fun. First, Sabrina & Jimmy got married (kind of…although they don’t know it, Jimmy’s wife, the serial killer, is still alive. They faked her death certificate so the pair could get married. heh), and it was cute, and sweet, and Sabrina’s speech to Jimmy at the end was too adorable. Then in the second episode, Barney’s wedding gift of an armoire turned out to be dollhouse-sized, so to make it up to them, he took the whole family (plus Sabrina’s mom’s ex-boyfriend LOL) to California to let Hope attend a taping of her favorite television show, starring Barney’s ex-wife’s child. While at the studio, the little girl in the show refused to do her line of blowing a raspberry, and when Hope did it from the audience, the producer pulled her in and replaced the other little girl. Hope was adorable, as was the very end, when Burt was confused about it being over already and then even more confused when he was told it was a “To Be Continued.” That was too funny.

raisinghope25bsmallTonight is another two episodes of this great show. It’s the continuation of the honeymoon episode plus another ep that sounds like it’ll be very funny. I’m very much looking forward to them. 😀

On tonight’s first episode, “Yo Zappa Do, Part 2,” when Hope is recruited as an actress on “Yo Zappa Do,” Jimmy signs on as an extra to help her through her scenes. But the show’s star Trevor (guest star Camden Garcia) is making his life miserable on set. Meanwhile Burt tries to pitch a new landscaping design to the studio chief (guest star Brian Doyle-Murray, Yes, Dear & Caddyshack), and Maw Maw settles an old debt with her late ex-husband.

Then on tonight’s second episode, “Sex, Clown and Videotape,” when Burt and Virginia discover that their storage locker is up for auction, they also realize they have misplaced a personal and incriminating home video that has fallen into the hands of another couple (guest stars Mike O’Malley, Yes, Dear & Glee, and Liza Snyder, Yes, Dear). Meanwhile, Sabrina tries to get to the bottom of Jimmy’s epic sleepwalking habit.

See both episodes tonight on FOX at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Betty White’s Second Annual 90th Birthday Special, NCIS, The Taste, NCIS: LA, The Bachelor, Chopped, Cougar Town, Justified, & Total Blackout.
