If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/30/19

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Phoebe’s Choice

Perpetual Grace LTDThe best show on TV this summer is Perpetual Grace, LTD. There, I said it. Find it on Epix or wherever you stream the good stuff. This show is a neo noir tale of Texas scammers and violent true believers in Christ, and it is grisly, whimsical, and tragicomic AF. Based primarily around a plot to fake the death of his parents to get their money, grifter Paul Allen Brown has enlisted the help of a corrupt Mexican cop and another scam artist, James, who is impersonating him now. The deeply convoluted plot they’ve hatched has gone awry since the very start. It is an enthralling story, and I recommend you climb aboard now before it’s the hottest show on TV next year.

Last week we watched Pastor Brown stalk the sons of Hector Contreras, the Mexican cop, as his wife escaped imprisonment. Glenn Pirdoo, the young boy who James clunked with an iron pipe a few episodes back, was lost in Mexico, always heading left, “cause that’s where west is,” and that was the main theme of the episode.

We finally got to the moment they’d been teasing when Lillian Brown asked Contreras why he was digging that hole, and he answered, “For you.” This show launched far off the deep end. Join us. Mexican astronauts are just the tease. Plz trust me… This show is the mega-tonnage. #ketchup

On tonight’s episode, “Wandering Left,” on Father’s Day, Pa follows Hector’s sons into their classroom; James guides Glenn out of the desert.

Don’t miss it tonight on Epix at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
