I think my favorite pilot that I got to watch over the summer was NBC’s The Brave, which is why it’s my first pick tonight. Avi Nir, an executive producer of Homeland, is also the executive producer of this one, and even though I didn’t watch Homeland, I know that at least the first handful of seasons it was very popular and a lot of people considered it a great show. So I have high hopes for this one as well. Considering it’s a procedural about the “complex world of America’s elite undercover military heroes,” (in NBC’s words), it’s going to be right up my alley. Also, trust me when I say you don’t want to miss a minute of the action…including the very last minute of the episode!

Anne Heche plays D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell. She and her team of analysts in Washington, D.C., have at the fingertips the world’s most advanced surveillance technology. Adam Dalton, played by Mike Vogel (Under the Dome) leads a Special Ops squad of highly trained undercover specialists. Their unbreakable bond and commitment to freedom helps them to save the lives of innocent people and execute missions in some of the most dangerous places in the world. It also stars Tate Ellington (Noah Morgenthau), Demetrius Grosse (Ezekiel “Preach” Carter), Natacha Karam (Jasmine “Jaz” Khan), Noah Mills (Joseph “McG” McGuire), Sofia Pernas (Hannah Rivera), and Hadi Tabbal (Amir Al-Raisani).

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” when American doctor Kimberley Wells (guest star Alix Wilton-Regan) gets kidnapped by a group with terrorist ties, Captain Adam Dalton and his squad must take action and stop at nothing to save her. Across the world, D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell and her team of analysts guide Dalton along the way through as the group learns that Wells’s disappearance might have ties to something that could be catastrophic.

Don’t miss the exciting premiere tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

The Voice is overflowing with incredible talent this season, and it was a tough round of battles last week. There were so many battles where I was torn between who should win and was wishing there were more steals. The best part of the battles was having such great mentors this season – especially John Legend, because he was so pleased to be there and had great advice. I’m really rooting for Adam this season because I think he’s due for a win.

On tonight’s episode, “Knockouts Premiere,” the knockout round kicks off with the artists selecting their own song to perform.

To watch these incredible artists fight for their place on the live shows, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Taken, 24: Legacy, APB, and Quantico.

If you’ve seen the Taken movies starring Liam Neeson, or if you’re a fan of procedurals, you’ll probably want to check out tonight’s TV spinoff. The new show stars Clive Standen (Vikings) as a younger Bryan Mills (Neeson’s character in the feature films). Mills is a former Green Beret who is dealt a horrible personal tragedy that will shape the rest of his life. He joins a small, elite CIA team, and the show is about his time with the CIA and how he becomes the father and deadly operative we know from the films. The show also stars Jennifer Beals (The Chicago Code, The L Word), Louis Ferreira (Motive), Gaius Charles (Grey’s Anatomy, Friday Night Lights), Brookliyn Sudano, James Landry Hebert, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Michael Irby (Almost Human, The Unit), Monique Gabriela Curnen (The Following), Jennifer Marsala (Lie to Me), & more.

I’ve seen the first two episodes, and I really enjoyed it. It’s full of action and drama, like a little mini-movie in every episode. And it’s heartbreaking at the beginning, even amidst all the fun action. I highly recommend checking out the first few episodes to give it a chance!

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” the murder of Bryan Mills’s sister launches him into a dangerous mission for revenge against cartel boss Carlos Mejia. A secret US intelligence agency, led by Christina Hart, covertly uses Bryan as bait to capture Mejia, and in the end recruits Bryan to become a part of their team.

Don’t miss tonight’s exciting premiere on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 24: Legacy, Kids Baking Championship, Man With a Plan, Superior Donuts, APB, 2 Broke Girls, & Scorpion.

thevoice2016smallIt has been a season full of incredible talent yet again on The Voice, and I am loving the combination of the new judges as well. Alicia Keys has really brought a fresh new perspective to the show, but even more important is the fact that her team has some of the most amazing talent. Wè McDonald is incredible, and every time she sings, I am astounded by her poise. I’m hoping she wins, because she truly deserves it.

On tonight’s episode, “Semi-Finale Artist Perform,” the Top 8 artists perform live in front of coaches Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton for America’s votes.

To see if your favorite can earn the votes to win it all, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Kevin Can Wait, Man With a Plan, The Great Christmas Light Fight, and Timeless.

Tonight TBS kicks off its new dark comedy Search Party, which centers around a group of self-absorbed twenty-somethings who find themselves mixed up in the mystery surrounding the disappearance of one of their former college classmates, Chantal. Dory (Alia Shawkat, Arrested Development) feels like a doormat – she’s got a thankless job working as an assistant to a rich housewife and is trapped in a relationship with boyfriend Drew (John Reynolds, Stranger Things), who only cares about his own needs. Despite having little memory of the missing girl, Dory makes it her mission to find Chantal in hopes of adding some sort of meaning and purpose to her life. She tries to rile up her friends to help with the search party, but actress Portia (Meredith Hagner, Royal Pains), narcissist Elliott (John Early, Your Main Thing), and boyfriend Drew seem more concerned with their images and dramatically posting to social media about how Chantal’s disappearance has affected them, rather than actually doing something to help. But this search party could be a way for Dory to get closer to journalist ex-boyfriend Julian (Brandon Michael Hall), who still makes her light up when he enters the room.

TBS will be airing two episodes of the 10-episode first season every night this week from 11pm-midnight (ET/PT). In addition, all 10 episodes will be made available for binging via On Demand. I checked out the first episode, and while I didn’t find the show laugh-out-loud funny, I did find some humorous moments, and it made me curious to check out more to learn what’s really going on with Chantal’s disappearance and to see if any of Dory’s self-obsessed friends have any redeeming qualities.

On tonight’s first episode, “The Mysterious Disappearance of Chantal Witherbottom,” when Dory discovers that her friend, Chantal, has gone missing, she becomes obsessed with finding out what happened, even though her boyfriend, Drew, and friends, Elliott and Portia, couldn’t care less.

Then, in “The Woman Who Knew Too Much,” Dory begins to doubt whether she saw Chantal the night before, but an offbeat realtor claims that she has the proof that Dory is looking for.

Check out the first two episodes tonight on TBS at 11/10c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Timeless, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.
